hello guys I was want to know which tools I need or any one need to make mods like those and how much they cost (the tools) and why to use them. future ne[]n Black Rain Apple Core Duo 50th Anniversary Stacker Ferrari Enzo Tribute Cold Fusion jokkos case or any of this hot mods and case built How the hell the did that! I don't have a clue I saw the logs millions time and I can't get it Thanks very much
Most common tools are: Dremel Drill Sander (especially palm sander) jigsaw scroll saw pop-rivet gun drill-press soldering iron heat gun clamps The list can go on Pricing depends on make/quality/type/size of the tools.
It's less of the tools used, but more how there used. Any one can have a drill, but not anyone could make the likes of apple core duo without some tallent, motivation/insparation and creativity.
Ditto; with the right skills you can do complex stuff with simple tools; on the other hand, if you've got no skill the best tools won't help you do S***.
Yes, practice and patience and perseverance are a must if you are doing a project, decent tools should follow that as you progress IMO.
Can be done with a scroll saw; but my guess (just by looking at the pictures) is that he had it laser cut.
mm nice maybe he is heheh Any ways I think I have to start Save some money and try to gain money or any thing... to buy some tools in future for me Thanks very much for the help.
here: scroll saw band saw dremel tool mitre saw table saw heat gun bending table thingy drill press a couple of hand drills sometimes: a lathe a mill(or cnc?) but those are expensive and lots of chemical work for enzo case, et cetera ooo and i forgot, a buffing setup(eitehr buffign wheel or wheel set up for a drill) and lots of sanders!!!! lots and lots of sanders. What tools do you have? i recomend first off if you don't have it; a scroll saw and then a drill press. Then a mitre saw or table saw, waht do you gusy think? a table saw cuts perfectly straight lines for panels and such, the mitre and table saws are more common for scratch builds. It depends what kinda modding you want to do
If you are working with wood a nice dozuki saw is a welcome addition. I am trying to find one at the moment; not sure where the best place or what brand is the highest quality though.
Did I hear, Dozuki? I'm pretty familiar with them, what is your price range? The best that I know of costs around 1500 usd and is entirely hand made but mine are great quality at around 170 usd. What are you planning on using it for? (tenons, dovetails, etc). I know of a few great places to get them if you're interested too.
i can answer you on the Ferrari enzo mod. Aside from the basic modding tools and power tools that already were mentioned in this thread, i was mostly working with composite materials and it requires more knowledge and experience and less tools. The tools themselves for the basic fiberglass fabrication are very basic, you can see the tools i'm using in some of my video updates. About cold fusion he used laser cutter for most of his parts if i'm not mistaken. Besides, you can always try and PM the creator of a specific mod or ask it in his worklog i'm sure most of the modders will answer you.
Really Nice! But it's kinda how it comes ont perfect, I think like you said the "experience" that not every buddy have it. Thanks very much.
I am interested if you can direct me. I would probably be more into the $170 price range for the moment I will be using it for mortis and tenon joints mainly. Oh, and I think a sanding block is a great cheap investment if you want to save your hands. Especially for the things a power sander might be too powerful for.
For very good quality saws and very good quality service, misugidesigns.com is really quite good. The woman who runs it, Kayoko is a very nice and knowledgable woman. The saws are also made by Mitsukawa who is still young but very good (you can ask her about them for more info). I have both the cross cut and rip cut versions which are both necessary for making tenons.
A dual action sander, and a mouse sander are great additions, and usualy cheap. Band saws are pretty popular in the uk. Check out a metalcutting band saw also, cuts pretty straight lines
