I can see where other users are coming from, but I'm damn sure I'm not going to be changing my search engine in the Start menu - what's the point?

Antitrust lawsuits are like throwing all your toys out of the pram. This makes me want to use Live more..

As long as I can leave it as it is, I don't care. I like the way it works now. It works well, why should I change?

I hope the search bar in the Start menu will still function as Run command, else I see a lot of frustrated support staff.
Try explaining a total noob to open up a commandbox, thats sometimes hard enough...
I'm waiting for the first one to google 'cmd' from the Start menu :S

If they're going to do this to MS, they should do it to Apple too, but you don't find OSX being bundled without iTunes or Apple being forced to allow other search apps to work with Spotlight.

Someone in a position of power somewhere has a serious grudge against MS.

nah. apple simply isnt attractive to sue due to its low marketshare... if apple would have 90%+ marketshare everyone would go for them instead of ms.

It's funny but it seems to me Microsoft is mellowing more and more nowadays and is actually doing a better job at giving people choices then Apple is

Bear in mind that BillyG has stepped down, while Steve J is still as much in charge (and still as pretentious) as he was 10 years ago.

Maybe so, but even when BillG was there, Microsoft was slowly mellowing

    It's all about consumer choice.
A company with 90% market share of such a huge market should not be allowed to get away with limiting the consumers choice.
What if they mess up (which they do from time to time :D ) and you actually want to change anything?? Oh, but look. It'd be not possible if we just

oh i thought this would just be like a plug in api

so instead of searching MS it would search Google
But an entire new program, sounds like a lot of overhead for nothing really
