I don't know if it's just me but this seems to include some kind of optical illusion, focus on diff parts of the flame, the other parts seem to move... especially the right side (focus on the left peak)

i think the first one is better as it gives a better idea of simplicity as it the flame is smaller and kinda seems more peaceful in a way.

Not a lot too it tbh, it just took a number of shots to get the settings right.

It's a match, which I held a lighter to, and as soon as the match started to light I hit the shutter release on rapid fire.

Oh and image converted to B&W.

was the rapid fire rapid enough to make a stop-frame video?

As soon as I get home today, I'm downscaling one of those and making a new avatar. And I have dibs, so no cheating and doing it first, you lot!

I love how one frame in one of those had the flame totally screw with the metering. Unless you just mixed in a frame with different white balance somehow.

    Beautiful . . . everyday, but unusual.

as a further idea . . . howz about lining them up like dominos so one ignites the next . . . and after that linking them with a trail of deodarant spray (sprayed onto surface, not ignited while sprayed) . . . Tate Modern Gallery might be the next stop.
