What a drag. There goes my plans for working this weekend and putting out another update. Supposed to get the Boreas Chiller by Nov 8, but I guess Customs is taking a vacation. I'll still get the 8 CCFLs from performance-pc so expect some light show pics on Friday or Saturday night.

Also I think Im going to go with the Cosmos 1000 case instead of the Lian Li v1200b Plus II because the Chassis is greater than 210 mm which is the max width of the Lian Li. Its about 225mm which is in the range of Cosmos' 266mm width. Im going to gut the Cosmos and start from the frame. Also have to cut out the HDD drive bays to allow the Chassis to fit.

    Man.. stupid Fedex.

Another order I just send out got delayed too. We pulled the paperwork and is exactly the same as we always do it. A call to Fedex and they ask for the paperwork again :wallbash: I will look into your order right now Sam. Glad i checked your worklog :/

Mini update. Boreas Chiller ETA is now Nov 15.

Ok got two shipments from Performance-PC:

x6 AC Ryan UV Blue Acrylic
x2 AC Ryan Overbright UV ( 4 total ) CCFLs
    x4 Logysis UV+Blue CCFL Combo
x1 1x120mm AC Ryan Glow FX UV Blue
x1 2x120mm AC Ryan Glow FX Uv Blue
x1 2x120mm AC Ryan Thrust Grill (Design by Tribaloverkill)
    x1 120mm Fan Duct

Ok for the Chassis, I am 1/2 done with the front side. Just need to cut a 4.25" hole for the fan and the fan duct and four holes to attach the chiller to it. For the Chassis its self, I just need to finish the back portion. The Middle and Front are as done as they can be without the Chiller. Also installed the 4 AC Ryan Overbright UV CCFLs. Bright no?

When lit up, that case looks like a brain tumor factory!:hehe: Thank God you had clean sheets under it.:worried:

I kinda knew when you showed up with the LuckyStar avatar... That show is only funny if you get all the cross-references. I confess I'm heavily into anime.

lol canser! The Chassis is not the case though. It is the case for the Boreas Chiller. I haven't even started the computer case yet. :worried:

I really need to get a full sketch out to flesh out the details. Ill try to get it up by the middle of the week. It'll be in a drawing format. Not CAD or Sketchup since I don't have time to really learn all the features.

Lucky Star is seriously entertaining. It is my top five.

    My list:

    1. Kite + MezzoForte + Kite:Liberator (Same Director)
    2. Ghost in the Shell
    3. Haruhi or Gunslinger Girl
    4. Lucky Star
    5. Tenchi Muyo (The OVA not everything else)

A note on Kite + Kite:Liberator + MezzoForte, its not PG13, R, or even NC17 because of questionable content, but the details are amazing. If you've seen it you know what I am talking about. The explosions, people dying, its so realistic. Of course lots of blood and gun action.

Muyo is up there because it brought me into Anime.

I did a review of Gunslinger Girl over on another thread. lol Yeah so I am Qhs on all the other threads Im registered to. If you see a Qhs and has an anime related avatar. Its probably me.

    http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/reviewpost/showproduct.php/product/352/sort/2/cat/66/page/1

Series I am looking foward to:

Kite Liberator - ETA Any day now... (The one I am most giddy about)
    Haruhi 2 - ETA Spring 2008
    Gunslinger Girl 2 - ETA Spring 2008
    GITS 3rd Gig - ETA Q4 2009

Ive got the GSG complete box set and its good but my first was
Nausica of the valley of the wind.
Ive started a gits mod but ran out of time to finish it ( see sig) but i did repaint one of the damaged handles only to find the blasted thing damaged again.

@27 Im past the age limit of all known anime/manga.

    What the hell...THREAD HIJACK!
It's hard to say what my favorites are, but I love the edgy stuff. My background in computer animation plays a part in my choices too.
Some favorites: Tekkon Kinkreet and the other 4C stuffs, A Tree of Palme, GITS & the other Oshi films, The Makoto Shinkai films, and all the Ghibli films and shorts.
The next build I'm planning is influenced by Miyazaki's 'Pigs in tanks' mangas.

    well, half hijack/half comment

first, can we see a mock with the mobo in it? i just want to see how it fits.

and for the hijack, I was watching One Hour Photo(with robin williams in it) and the kid picked out a Evangelion unit from Neon Genesis Evangelion. it made me smile.
anyone beside me want to see an Evangelion/Big-O/Gundam fight?

I think I need to get that sketch of the build out ASAP. I'll try to get it up tonight. What I am building now is NOT the case for the computer. It is just a cover/chassis for the Coolit Boreas Chiller (http://www.coolitsystems.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=65&Itemid=83). I will be starting to mod the case (Possible the Cosmos 1000) next month during winter break as then I will have ample amounts of time to actually do serious case modding.

I watched Big-O a while back when it was on Cartoon Network (lol I was younger then) but never got to finish it. As for Gundam, I've been following it since Wing. Watched: Wing, Seed, Seed Destiny, and currently, 00. I consider Wing one of the better Gundam series. If you are following 00, look out for the forest-green haired girl. For some reason, I always think she is Wu Fei's distant cousin.

Ok did a drawing of what the Chassis should look like when it is completed. I hope this clarifies some of the confusion.

I am currently working on the front portion of the entire cooler module. Im waiting for the 15th before I start doing the middle module, which is when I should get the Boreas Chiller from Coolit. and when I get the measurements of the front+middle, then I will start on the PSU cover. In between those steps, I will buy the case to make sure everyhing fits. Waiting for the week of Thanksgiving to get the case. Only time I will be home is Black Friday so I'll be ready for the UPS guy to complain about such a huge box. UPS delivers on Black Friday right? Not so sure.

Also, thinking of a way to incorporate Apeture's logo. Any ideas guys?

I guess that is possible. Maybe on the front where the chassis meets the case.

+1 for time consuming packaging. I wish I had all that spare time the people who packed this have. Must have taken them many hours to cut all that.

    Pump

Tubing, control module (Will be replace with the MTEC in June 2008), GTX block, clamps, and two F connectors.

something plated copper? (Perspective makes my nails look awfully long :\ -Qhs)

The images on the website suggests that the fan frames are made of ABS plastic or similar like regular case fans, but the production model has 100% aluminum 120mm x 120mm x 38mm fan frame. Nice a durable.

Another package came in a day before from Mcmaster.

    YES!

WAIT WHAT?!?!?! What happened to the other 8?????!!!! (Oh expected to ship the 28 -Qhs)

    HOW DO I SPRAY PAINT!!!

lol I thought McMaster was run by robots. I guess not. :sigh:

    Ok modding time:

IT FITS!! I've been working with just measurements the past few weeks. Had to rethread the fan screw holes for it to fit my M5 hex screws. I just drill a M5 screw in the hole. Lots of kicking and the black screws turned silver, lol friction, but works fine.

Next update will probably be after Thanksgiving. I am 100% sure I will be getting the Corsair 750TX. A nice single 12V rail @ 60A. Not modular though :\

Also, I might return to my PC roots by going with AMD's Phenom CPU. AMD's Overdrive makes overclocking a breeze. No need for dozens of program to check for stability and temperature and load. Overdrive is all in one. Here is a youtube link of it in action.
