    hi
does anyone know of somewhere to get largeish sheets of aluminium in the uk?
im needing about 60"x18" and have looked at a few places but they only seem to have certain sizes that you can order.
the closer to edinburgh the better.
    thanks in advance

That's a pretty big sheet to order online really. I'd say you'd be best to find a engineers/metal working shop near you, they'd have large sheets.

when i was looking through the threads i saw them (think it was posted by you) and i had a look and they have had the largest i have seen in uk.
i have also found that my friends dad has a few contacts to get metal from so i may not have to look any more.

And I generally back the recommendation up, having had good experiences with Hindleys in the past.

    +1!

    Me too!

I did infact order a piece of alu that size from them. The only thing I would say is big sheets of metal like that tend to suffer in the post (the sheet I got had a corner bent over) so best to get it locally if you can!

well if you just get it one with a bent corner just use a rubber mallet and flatten it out again it works a treet.

It was pretty mashed, wasn't a problem though, just didn't use the last inch of the sheet
