Ye glossy as a glossy thing that just got a degree of glossyness from glossy university  .

Or another way of putting it would be , yes i will be applying a good few coats of clear coat to it when its done.

Thanks for the various replys about the switches , i have one more question that struck me the other day.
Do you think i will need resistors for the led or would they be already housed in the switch somewhere?

I think you are supposed to wire it up to the power led indicator jumpers on the motherboard. (I've never used one of these, so it's just a guess.)
    -It's likely there's no resistor.

yes correct ........ they don't have built in resistors and as cheapskate mentioned should be connected to the motherboard indicators ..........
if you want to connect them to 12V line you will need a 470 Ohm resistor if the used LED (if 3V) draws a current of 20 mA from the source ...............

    Loes Dudes,

Well bugger me if its only a week or so since my last update ;) .

But yes its true an update it is ......

So most of the the building is done still got a bit of fiddling and a bit of metal work but other than that its moving into painting time :thumb: .

With that in mind heres a piccy of where im gonna be spending the best bit of my time for this phase of the case ....the spray booth .

What a drafty chilly place it is , but if the gods smile sweetly on me the case will look good for it.

And here are the weapons of choice for this part of the project.

The gun on the left is the primer gun and the one on the right is the top coat/clear coat gun.

Not the cleanest of tools but they do a fair bit of work and i have always found painting a messy old thing.

So after thirty mins or so and loads of frantic trigger pressing i had a selection of case parts in a lovely shade of matt grey.

    O the joy !!

Left over night for the paint to go hard and i was able to rebuild the case.

Its only the first coat of primer so its a bit rough still but i think pics at this stage give a much better image of the shape.
I think it can be hard to get a good sense of shape when its all glue lines and filler.

So with that in mind here are a few piccys of the case back together but this time in a nice shade of grey.

    Heres one side.....

And a shot from the front.....

    And finally the other side....

So i will leave you all with that for now while i get some elbow grease out and start rubbing it down :duh: .

looks sharp. The primer makes it look like a CG prototype. (spell check says grey-gray are both OK? now I'm confused! Which do I use?)
