What you want is the iKonic widget that runs under the Yahoo Widgets engine.

It is basically a replacement for the desktop icons. You need to run only one instance of it; you can then add as many desktop icons as you want. You can assign them any image or icon, at any size, colour and with a range of mouseover and click effects. You assign it any label you want, in any font. You then tell it the target it needs to link to.

If it is a folder or file, you can tell it to display any relevant info (size, free and/or used in Gb or %) in the sub-label, and you can format that text as you wish. You place them wherever you want on your desktop.

Play around with it --it is incredibly flexible.

Thanks to Nexxo about the Yahoo! Widgets. They work wonderfully. ^^
And thanks to Fr4nk for telling me about his old skins, which then led me on a search to when I found the Mac skins. =P

One thing im annoyed about however, is when I do "Show Desktop" and my RocketDock disappears til I reopen a window.. >_>
And im currently looking for a Yahoo! Widget that'll display the Album Art of the song im listening to (on WMP... Yes I still use it hehe). Something simular to iTunes album art thingy on Fr4nk's desktop screenies.
If anyone could help, that'd be great!

Finally got myself motivated to clean up and install stardock objectdock



And i change my background every 2 years or so

 

Here's mine, the background is from deviantart, not sure what i searched though to find it. Everyday programs on the left, game related and music on the right, the rest in the start menu. It's a alienware theme on windows xp. You can find the alienware GUI thingy on their website and it has 4 skins and a dock available.

 

Search the Winamp plugins. There should be something there.

What's your CPU load indicator, BTW?

 

setup is dual 19" LCD, but I didn't want to bother you with twice the same picture.

 

Yahoo! Widgets call it "Neon Gauges" it does more things than just the CPU monitor. You can change the shape of the gauge too, im using "Asterix".
