The truth is that they're probably so old they're useless for anything these days. You've got to do something with old hardware.
Those DVD's aren't old crap though, they are actually flubber DVD's (Looked at the comment and tis true). http://www.moviezoo.dk/images/big/Flubber-7393834138609-01.jpg
The first two incarnations were pretty good ("the absent minded professor") but that Robin Williams thing was just bloody awful. He was much better in Insomnia and 24 hour photo.
i was going to say that.... it also eats bugs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPDLX0koXFs&feature=related
Not true. Tibet's impromptu internet network was built from defunct hardware like this (running off solar power and old car batteries --possibly the greenest computing ever). Moreover, the third video shows some classic Apple Macintosh computers. Should be in a design museum at least, or else worthily modded. I mean, I don't get it. There is all this effort to create a Third World laptop while we could just ship out our five-year old hardware that we chucked on the tip. They'd have functional machines for free. In fact, wouldn't it be great if every time you upgrade your PC, you could send your old hardware to some place in the developing world that uses it to rebuild functioning machines.
i am with you on that one...... i also don't get it..... maybe they are afraid that third world countries will evolve to much.....
