I have started to mod my case which i bought cheap of the internet. I will just give a quick overview of what i have already done.

Here is the case i started with.

I then cut the back fan hole out to aid air flow around the case.

Here is another picture of it cleaned up.

    Fan hole cut into besel.

    Fan hole cut into chassis.

Window cut and started to clean it up but will finish it.

Window with mesh in. Not sure about the mesh at the moment.

    Thats it for now.

If anyone has any comments please comment.

nice start! I'm just wondering why you didn't go for a bigger hole in the front.

If i went for a 120mm hole in the front it would mean i would have had to cut into the switches, plus there is a step in the besel which an 80mm stays inside of.

Looks like the step in the bezel isn't centered to complicate things for bigger fan. Find a fan that moves some serious air and it will help a lot. That mesh looks pretty hardcore & strong. Also congrats on not putting fan where was suggested by case maker. It looks better lower like that, more centered between bottom & 3 1/2" bays. keep it going man

Thanks for the comments. The mesh is very strong nearly 2 mm thick.

Another update. I have been taking the rivets out of the chassis to prepare it to get sprayed and i have also cut a hole in the front of the CD drive blank which will have mesh in.

    Chassis taken apart and cleaned.

    CD front masked.

    Hole marked out for cutting.

Hole cut out just needs more cleaning up.

    Thats it for now.
    Comments and suggestions are welcome.

The chassis has been sprayed white, just the front needs to be done. All the panels were blasted then primed then sprayed white.

    Mobo tray sprayed white.

Case bottom and inside sprayed white.

    Case back sprayed white.

Any comments and suggestions please reply.

Does anyone have any ideas for the front besel of the case? I have already cut a hole for a fan but i am wanting something different from the usual turbine style fan. Thanks

Eh, you could make a bigger circle to go around the fan intake and have it light up the same color as the fan.
Or a layered type accent with a combo of plexi and mesh. somehow.

Haven't updated in a while but anyway here is what i have done. I have finished spraying the chassis and started to spray the external panels.

The chassis front was blasted, primed and sprayed white.

The same was done to the panels where the hdd's and cd drives mount to.

The front was sprayed orange and the side was also sprayed orange.

That's it for now, the other panels will be sprayed soon. Any comments and suggestions are welcome.

Reminds me of "Building Better Worlds" by E.E.L.

But not quite, so that's good.
You could leave the paint how it is and call it Orange Peel.
Also, are you going to do the Status l.e.d.'s on the front of the case a custom color?

I started today by making a hole for the exhaust fans on the top of the case. I plan on making something out of plexi to cover the hole just need to design it.

Top of the case masked out and measured.

Top of the case cut ready for final trimming for the fans.

That's it for now, any comments and suggestions welcome.

lol that would be a cool name "Orange Peel". The chassis being painted white gives it that clean look. When you say the chassis was blasted do you mean sand blasted or?
