    There's a sweet spot in the market that no-one's hit yet - something halfway between the eeePC and the Macbook Air in size, so it'd have a (mostly) useable screen and keyboard but still be smaller than a standard laptop, and hit a price point around $500-$700 US. That'd make it usable and cost effective for a web-browsing, note-taking machine, but not replace a full sized computer for extended work or gaming. This one looks like it's getting closer, I guess we'll find out.

    The eee with a screen that filled the case would do nicely!

    If this does only cost £350, it would be rather tempting

    That is the usual resolution for LCD TVs, but for computers it is more normally 1280*800

    superb looking laptop.

    if only there's a mini-laptop in similar thickness and portability as Macbook Air or IBM X300, but in this price range. isn't 8inch a bit small?

    if it turns out to run XP pro well then it may be a worthy investment

    Your probally right, but then whats the point, you can get a decent laptop for £400.
    I guess were have to wait and see for the specs.

    but that 400 quid laptop wouldnt by tiny and light.... which is what some people for some unearthly reason think the whole point of an ultraportable is!:wallbash:

    I can't really see this thing as a very useful unit TBH. 12" seems to be the best size at the moment.


    I have seen 17" laptops in an envelope, so that's a pretty poor measurement :p

    I saw another one of those tiny laptops in Computer Shopper

    it's called the Everex's CloudBook and it's $399

    specs:
    2 pounds
    9 inches in length
    5 hour battery life
    1.2Ghz Via C7-M
    1.3 megapixel webcam
    gOS operating system

    The Cloudbook has had a few distribution and production problems from what I've heard though..

    i was being facetious

    isnt the cloudbook pretty much identical aside from running windows xp to the packard bell branded thing that pc world sell for £350 ?
