I want to purchase a motherboard with the X48 chipset but none of them have SLI, yet they all advertise crossfire. I came across a discussion on Anandtech that claims SLI works perfectly fine with Crossfire motherboards. Specifically the new Rampage Formula by Asus. Is there any truth to this has anyone tested it out and had any success? Does it hinder performance if you were to use 1 nvidia graphics card in a crossfire motherboard?
X48 chipset is a waste of money, get a x38 board if your dead set on wanting Crossfire, or a p35 board if you will have a single card only. as for sli, well, you will be stuck with the crappy nfarce chipsets, unless you go for Skulltrail, but then your looking at plattform prices where you can buy less than 10 year old car for...
I dont want to use crossfire for an ati card. I just like the x48 chipset and i'd like to know if i can use 1 nvidia card or even 2 in sli with a crossfire motherboard?
