really? i've never known any language but english, but i've heard that all the exceptions to the rules make it one of the hardest to learn and most illogical languages.

Exactly supertoad, just from my own experience with languages, i'd say that english is a complete mess of rules & exceptions. I've also heard the exact same thing from waaay too many people, from all sorts of nationalities.

That sux about the women not being allowed out CK. I suppose arranged marriages are also a regular occurence? I hate that, kids being raised to follow strict rules like a dog, not that i like kids growing up without any discipline, guidance, education, encouragement, etc...

You should plan a vacation with a few buddies somewhere CK! Someplace where the women are allowed out

errr. My English might not be perfect (far from it) but I find it much easier to learn and understand than French.

Here is an example. This is all the possible tenses of the verb «have», in French. (sorry this is quite a long list)

True, but it's like the Slovakians say: The number of languages you know is the number of times you are human. I.e. The more languages you have an insight too the more customs and peoples you understand and so forth.

Personally, I can't speak other languages. Just can't. I was OK-ish at German because it's quite a simple language, but all other languages leave me flustered. I've spent my entire life learning about English professionally (yeah, yeah, I know "and you still can't get your apostrophes rights!") and that is firmly engrained now. After GCSE, A-Level and a double degree, you find that the knowledge is actually quite stubborn.

    Welcome back!

Now that I think of it... My english was pretty horrid before I started going to forums and reading books in english. All the schools just can't help you if you don't have a goal that gives you motivation.

Welcome back. Try not to behave *too much*; some drama keeps things interesting. This reminds me of reality shows that choose to bring back controversial contestants when things start getting too dull!

It's not necessarily lazy, but American spelling variations are usually more effective and aid proper pronounciation. Maybe letters were omitted by accident, as was the case with "aluminum".

LOL :D I like Programs like American inventor, BBC programs and Discovery Channels programs, I don't like the reality shows like American top model, Who can dance, etc…... I don't like to watch them. I feel that they are stupid idiots try to scam me. ( That’s my point of view ) You don’t learn anything new or useful from them. You lose your time when you watch them. :sigh:

Americana English, Is a lazy language, But It is good in the same time, From my point of view, You have to learn the Original English first, Then you can use American English. English one of most hard languages to learn, But if you work hard and keep trying, You will learn it. I prefer to use English English all the time if I can, But sometimes you use the American without you know.

About my future mod, I was working on the plans for long time now. I got everything planned well, I have New awesome ideas, The most crazy new ideas on this forums , The problem is the time, I can't find time to work on the project. The most important reason is the school, School 2nd term exams after 25 days and I have 8 Subjects. I arrive home at 2 PM, I Go sleep at 4 PM after I eat launch and watch TV, I wake up at 8 PM or 7 PM, I get a shower and eat, The time will be 9 PM, I sit on the computer to check Bit Tech and email for 1 hour or so, Then at 10 PM I go study till 1 Am or 2 AM ( Depends on the Exam ) Sometimes I stay till 3 AM, I have school at 6 AM till 2 PM, It keeps going every day. Can’t find any time to mod. If I will not travel in the summer to any ware, I will have time for my project, Other wish I will Find time after some months :grr:

Thanks every one, I'm happy that you support me all the time. Take care.

Ha! I think the American show equivalent to her is Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth. Once she was fired, they had her back just to create more drama I think.

Many North Americans don't like those shows (mindless crap) either but sadly they are cheap to make and the supply of idiots wanting to be famous seems to be endless. :sigh: Besides that, a lot of their "reality" is very contrived.

I think the people at Despair.com nailed this one: (Link) (except they do do that there too)

Gotta say, british TV is starting to grow on us like a fungus.

We started looking forward to BBC America's airing of Coupling reruns every Friday night, and my wife is particularly fond of "How Clean is Your House" and "You Are What You Eat."

    Plus, we <3 Gordon Ramsey.

With all those shows and Doctor Who, you guys have it good.

Stuey Yeah UK TV rocks, BBC is the best company that I ever saw. They make programs to give people good information and don't make them lose their time, I really like the useful programs they show.
