Some of friends are realy into this program but its the biggest pile of crap in the planet. No wonder this country going to pot when all talent is classed into 3 area from what i noticed:
    1. Who can sing
    2. Who can dance
    3. Who got kinda some kinda party trick

Where the university student who show talent in there area of research, where the amazing computer programmer where the engineers who help to design the LHC. These shows just go on to promote that is talent is just fancy tricks and being clever is not talent. There rant to come but I've gt to get ready to go to work so ill continue when i get back watch this space.

Yeah because watching someone analyse 2000 lines of data is fun.

This is for a variety show, as dom said, lines of data don't make a good show, it's not meant to mean that the only talents are singing, dancing and party tricks, it's just those are the ones they're looking for so they can perform in front of Prince Charles I believe.

You actually took time out of getting ready to go to work to write this? Sweet mother of God...

I think you miss the point of the show. It's a TALENT contest. Hence the name, and hence the fact it is indeed to find people who can entertain an audience.

It's a moron convention, don't watch it unless you either want to be despressed, or you're writing a report on the state of modern society in Britain.

I think it says more about the programming than the people that appear on the show.

A lot of TV these days is poorly made, appealing to the lowest common denominator. To be honest, there are much better ways of spending your time.

programming in general is rubbish in my opinion, it all seems to revolve around celebrities and reality shows, which if that is all the general public want to watch then fair play to them they have got to cater for there audience, but there is however the odd little gem in there, but unfortunately this isn't one...

I've heard that part of the reason for the increase of reality TV shows was the ban on junk food advertising during children's programming. The loss of revenue meant that in order to still air programmes for children, costs had to be cut elsewhere. This means cheaper 'reality' shows, more re-runs and shows being bought in from other countries.

You're wrong. There's some really original stuff in there. Don't bother watching the show, just wait for the good bits to turn up on Youtube:

Anything that has Piers Morgan in is not 'well done'.
