And i DO have a tripod. Still blurs the image Perhaps if i put the camera on the countdown mode... hmmmm

I am back from the first acrylic bending test.
It failed.

I am trying now another aproach... lets see what is going to happen...

 

You know, you're not supposed to dropkick the shutter release button on the camera. ;P
Jokes aside, I would certainly try the countdown mode... if that does not work then your tripod is to flimsy or there's lots of vibration/wind in your workshop.

I am going to test that on some detailed images.. For the step by step, i think i'll be using the stupid camera as it is, because if i don't i'll waste too much time adjusting for a photo

The plexi bending is driving me nuts!

The countdown/timer is a life saver. It's the only way to get clear low light shots.
For the plexi bending you might need to make a mold for both sides of the plexi. -one for it to fit to, and one to smash it in place. I used a underside only mold for my bending, and got poor results.

 

I don't know what they're called in Brazil but there's a reason we call them "gull wing doors" on cars in America.

Very nice locking mechanism. I really don't see how this is only a 4-star project.

 

Aye about the countdown timer.. I'll make a rig for phtos sometime later.

About the molds, i never thought to make a negative mold. Perhaps thats the answer!

I'd say that this is acrylic madness...in a damn good way

For the photos, I tend to use the 2 sec timer on my camera even though it's on a tripod. But, the most important thing would be to improve the lighting in the area where you're taking the photos, that'll help a lot.

I'm really looking forward to seeing this project realized from those renderings to an actual case, that'll be quite a journey for you and us.

That just means that someone was jealous and voted 1 star. I'll throw you some, and I don't think you have to worry for the start count to stay at 4

 

5 stars coming from here too, but I really wouldn't worry about them stars too much. Listen to the comments you get and I bet you'll get much more valuable feedback.

Thanks Brinkz and Darkned! A lot! As a matter of fact i think everyone gets a little upset when you got just 1 star and no comment on why. I would like to know. Anyway, i think the comments are always welcome. Good or bad, they make us try to get better and better.

In these posts you only see the things that went right. The hundreds of tests i usually don't take pictures. When a test go ok, I go for the real thing and only them i start to take pictures. For every 10 tests, at least 2 go wrong.

As for the photos, I'll try to make a better place to take the pictures. I've found this article on how to build your own light box:

But it's still "too little" for a whole casemod, so i have to figure out something in a bigger scale...

So perhaps my camera isn't that bad? Perhaps the way i take pictures is wrong after all
