Haha, I don't think you could get a photo making a Mini look much smaller, but it's still cool. :D

I thought that would get some nice responses ^_^

It does make me wonder why people bother with such big cars when they dont offer that much space. That and it costs loads to buy and run!

Its also scary what with the roof line of the mini being as tall as the BOTTOM of the window line of the range rover! I tells ye, i don't spend long at the side of one of these cars, or trucks or anything much bigger tbh... its just scary being faced with WHEELS at the side of you. Feel like im in a matchbox car about to be run over by a RC monster truck!

Its off the road atm after havign the battery cable short on the exhaust ( battery in the boot and the exhaust tunnel is shared with the battery cable and fuel line :| )
Got everything replaced just need a new starter motor ( picking up later :) )

what always amazes me is how much the new mini dwarfs the original one.

Did I catch you saying you're 6'5" stickeh?

Thanks! Its not as tidy as it looks, given that its 18 years old. Its actually a 1.2 with the SR Grille and front bumper painted in satin black. I have yet to give the rear end the same treatment, but the parts are in the shed. I wouldnt hesitate to buy another.

Yes last time i checked xD

It has bucket seats mounted behind the channel the original seats were mounted to the front of, They slide all the way back to hit the rear seats, so plenty of leg room.

In an accident which would you rather be in? Many people I've talked to look at the extra cost the same way that they look at insurance costs. I'm not saying I agree with that logic (some would even call it short-sighted and selfish) but I do understand it.

 Reminds me of::sigh: I remembered it as being funnier.

I noticed that too but it looks like "UGQ2FAR". the Q makes it look genuine.

I understand that, to a point.

Crash-avoidance in cars like that is hard work...most of the time a quick flick rolls such high COG cars, not exactly what i'd call safe...

The crashes i have avoided i didn't even get the tyres squeeling :p

Also it may give THEM safety, but what about the other drivers? If that crashed into me, i'd probably not be here. Might be safe for them, but not for others...(again selfish..)

If everyone had smaller cars we would all be better off.

That would be my ideal as well. However, around here at least half of the vehicles on the road at any given moment are full sized trucks or SUVs. What if you had the money and your wife was afraid to drive a little car in the midst of those larger vehicles? (For the record I'm neither rich, nor married, nor do I drive a truck / SUV / sports car - but I have been given this reasoning by others). Frankly, to me it smacks of an arms race. Most of the trucks here are legitimate business vehicles - but most of the SUVs are for prestige (here it's even more so than sports cars) or self-protection.

One of the best ironies about atm (at least to me) is that a lot of small cars these days have better crash-safety ratings than their mammoth counterparts. Obviously there are some accidents where this doesn't apply, but half the time you'd be better off in the new Corsa et al than your range rover. :hehe:

I don't know about that - I'd take a Corsa VXR over a Range Rover for anything but off-roading and posing outside a country club.
