The poor thing does look disappointed at first but then he starts his mating dance and by the end he presents it proudly. The goatse one looks more like it just hasn't evolved enough to learn to use leaves for anything other than food. The 2 people having sex is very well done, it's a pity it wasn't done as 2 separate creatures but instead as 1 whole creature. Do you animate them yourself or is it some inbuilt function and you only get to choose which sequence or series of sequences? I am going to download it and try it myself.
It's all preanimated, and done very effectively. The vast majority of the Spore creatures floating around the net took maybe 15 minutes at most? It's a superbly impressive editor, simply for the fact it's so difficult to break it. It seems almost perfectly fool proof, there's very little you can do that can't be properly animated and work correctly.
I hope the rest of the game has that much polish. I just dont want this to be another "we promised you the world" "but here's new york's garbage dump" game. I'm still mad about black and white 2.
Few of my creatures atm, and I'm using the extra pack you can download so you can chose from more things.
Calthis My favourite so far, made with the 100% editor Marley Monster Made by my GF in the leaked 25% version Flamey Made by my little bro in the leaked 25% version And finally my attempt to make a Willosaurus in the leaked 25% version I'd strongly advise people to get the free version as its worth a play. And for those that care here is a link to my spore profile
That is possibly the most disturbing thing i have seen an editor used for in some time... I like it Ill have to have a go myself when I have a bit of spare time, looks quite fun.
You know, there is a bandwidth friendly way to share your creatures with us - and on top of that, we all can play with them. Go into the My Documents folder. Inside, you will find a "My Spore Creations" directory. Go into the Creatures folder, and inside is a PNG image of every one of your creations. You can take any image created by somebody and put it into that directory, and it will be in your Sporepedia in full 3D glory. Here, try it yourself with one of my creations.
That's why you drag the picture into your "My Creatures" folder and fire up your copy of the Spore Creature Creator...
BTW just thought I'd state that in my eyes the final version of the SCC is a lot better than the trial version in many ways i.e. graphics, bugs.
Ok that's a pretty clever trick. Probably the best use of metadata... ever. So as I don't really get it... is SCC built into the final version of Spore in some form, and it's just something to allow you to screw around until the real launch? If so, does what you pay for the full version count towards Spore? It almost sounds like you have to buy both, which is REALLLLY milking it if that's the case.
it is in the game. they released this for a few reasons, one to give people an idea of how easy it is to make a creature, another is that when people do buy the game it wont take long for the universe to fill with creatures from different people because the database will have a good sized amount of creatures in it already.
