Probably a repost of a repost of a repost [original article is from 2001] but this is probably one of the funniest things I've read, ever.
I lol'd, but somewhere inside I also wanted to cry, because I know how accurately this rings with the mindsets of some, nay, most parents. I've come up against some frankly frightening levels of ignorance when dealing with parents - the most common being the belief that installing too many games causes computer slowdown and longer boot times. They also tend to be maniacally opposed to the adoption of any software that didn't come with the package PC (firefox, nero, winamp, VLC) and are always suspicious and skeptical of suggestions for hardware upgrades, insisting that the computer worked 'fine' when they got it (in the 90s ). They also tend to refuse to buy antivirus software on the basis that "windows has one built in!".
Funny stuff, i like the way he seems to make it sound so bad its as if he was a murderer. As far as my parents are concerned, well, they arnt. I bought my comp so i can do what i like on it. Im not a hacker though Im just obsessed with games.
6 is too many for anyone, especially that pric. I'm not that much of a pric, i'd say something like homework first, then ~30-60 minute stuffing around limit on school nights, and a couple of longer stuff around sessions on weekends. And the door to their room has to be open, and the monitor should preferably be visible from the doorway.
[rant]Is this a joke!? haha i lold so bad man, this guys a noob! he probably doesnt know that hackers are good people, smart and usually excel in things that require a lot of logical thinking. the father is unaware of change. if i asked my dad for faster hardware, it doesnt mean im a hacker! Whats up with him, he cant even spell LINUX. Hackers tend to stay away from the crowd!et alone dressing in colours that make him stand out! and the crap about AMD WTF STFU [/rant]
There is at least one "silly old man" just rolling around laughing. "LUNIX" Sweet. Great find. My wife told me to quit laughing so loud. I Obey! John
OMG... Good thing I'm using Linux, based on Minix, written by Torvalds whom has nothing to do with MS. I boot GRUB and my HD's are in perfect working order
I shiver at the thought that me habitually purchasing AMD processors are contributing to third world child labour ... but hey, lot's of people haven't got jobs at all.
I've read this a while ago, still gives me the giggles like crazy. guess i support third world child labor. (according to this)
is it evil to lol at that? the sad part is that cant even be seen as a joke anymore.... the politicians and mass media around the world are working hard to brainwash people into actually believing that
Gangrape, for starters... Or read through the source code of Vista, but those practices can only be done on Guantanamo Bay Correctional facility because torturing is forbidden on the mainland...
