So.. I havent been around much in the past... few years due to college, work, etc... However recently I have begun setting up linux servers for misc. reasons. I got VNC working yesterday (not hard at all!) and I got to thinking... what if I am using VNC viewer on my laptop, viewing the server... Then then on the server, from the laptop, I launch VNC viewer for the laptop... Would I be controlling the laptop or the server at that point? Is it even possible??? I think that either the computers or my head would implode upon trying this..
I've tried this before and unfortunately nothing spectacular happens. Though the first time I did it, I forgot to uncheck "disable local inputs". I then VNCed back into my desktop machine from my laptop only to find that the keyboard and mouse on both computers were now disabled
Done it before, nothing too crazy. I'd give you a screenshot but my fileserver is currently under the knife. You know that "I'm pointing a videocamera at the TV that's playing its signal" effect? Same idea. It just trails off into the distance; either stacked windows (1:1) or tunneling (scale to fit mode). Well, that's true for playback only. If you've got control, your mouse just ends up bouncing around unpredictably between the different machines. Bonus points if you control a really big screen from a really small one.
i dont know if this is what you were asking for because i am extremely tired and i cant read right ... but when i loop LogMeIn , this is what happens
