It's the end of an era and, despite it all, I always actually quite liked Bill Gates. He was a smart man and wasn't afraid to make a tit out of himself. There's a promo vid thing below which I thought was pretty funny.

Personally I have been doing computers since before the IBM/Bill Gates time. I have to recognize him as someone who brought an OS to the masses. No more punch cards and paper tapes. The idea of the keyboard and the personal computer should be shared by both IBM and Gates. A mainframe from the 70's in every home! Splendid. Yes, I use other OS on PCs but the vision of Gates remains.

Fair play to the man. I hope he enjoys his retirement, I love that video he did with Slash when GH3 was about. Brilliant. :D

Say what you like about MS, but you've got to admit that Bill and his company have a remarkable impact on the entire world. Without him, computers might have never become the ubiquitous tool they are today, and Bit wouldn't exist at all!

    l2XPorVista (get with the programme ? :)).

Im glad hes retiring, it will be good for microsoft to have someone fresh at the helm. Not that I didnt like Bill Gates, and unlike a lot of you posers, i've stuck up for him for years ;)
