i really wish i knew which n64 everyone else was playing -- people seem to have a MINDBLOWING experience with it, but aside from the three games i mentioned, i really didn't care too greatly for it >__>
Mine was the Dreamcast.. Loved that console.. It was way ahead of its time, far better than a PS2, its a shame it did not have the marketing drive that sony did with the ps2. Plus i guess sega timed it wrong
I still have my SNES! The single best console ever released... with adaptors you could play Gameboy(Colour) games, NES games, and NTSC versions of SNES games... and I remember the first time I tried Forest Of Illusion on Super Mario World IMO, it's the single most underrated and best console in the world
I thought the SNES was very well rated, so can't hardly be underrated! I concur though, as the SNES was what I spent most of my time on. Secrets of Mana, Super Street Fighter 3, Super Mario World and Yoshi's Island, is where most of my time was spent. That was the last console I owned, before I bought an X360, and now a Wii. X360 is looking to be the greatest for me I think, but time will tell.
The Dreamcast for me, great console, with some great games (Shenmue and Soul Calibur were amazing). PS1/2 a close second for the FF/MGS series. N64 third for Ocarina of Time and Goldeneye.
I still remember fondly my amiga a1000? xenon II was my favourite game from my youth, oh lets see after burner 2, alien breed 3d, desert strike, ahaha james pond and populous. I needed a bit of a metal refreshment in the form of a list of amiga games to jog my memory but all this makes me want to hunt out my amiga emulator and get stuck in.
Treasure Island Dizzy? Stunt Car Racer? Monkey Island? Another World? Turrican? Altered Beast? *wipes up* 'scuse me, I just had a nerdgasm
Sega Saturn because Dragonforce still is one of the best strategy RPG's I have ever played. Generations of Chaos is a good attempt, but it just didn't capture the scope of Dragonforce's battles. 100 Dragons vs 100 Knights. or 100 Ninjas vs 100 Monks. Factor in your Commander's attacking and performing special attacks (Wiping out 1/3 of the enemy attack force in one move was so awesome) and capturing/executing the enemy generals. No Wargame to date feels as exciting as Dragonforce for Sega Saturn did. Not to mention the Shining Force series on Saturn was epic.
I plugged mine in for the first time in ages yesterday, the framerate was aaaaaaaaaaawful. Much better off with the and emulator and wireless 360 controllers on the pc.
N64 just for zelda. Just got lent majoras mask but didnt work on my 64 due to me not having the ram upgrade thing. so i just got an emulator for it. and all i can say about majoras mask is - Best F-ing game ever.
Seconded. MM was brilliant. For me it's a tie between Majora's Mask, Metroid Prime and Half-Life 2 as the most cherished of games so far.
Golden eye on N64 we used to play it every single day during summer good memory's, although thats all we ever really played alot... all I liked that and waverunner or w/e the jet ski game was This is not my first memory of gaming, grandprix and Seal team on DOS were along with snes with earthworm jim The most groundbreaking and jaw dropping thing I ever saw was that boxing game on dream cast! I wanted one so bad.... but it died out as I was gonna get one, plus this introduced me to grand theft auto.... wow I owe dream cast for like 300 hours of game play it created with all the GTA's and I never even owned one..
Another vote for the N64 (I guess this thread explains why it was so much more successful than the playstation ) And another vote for Goldeneye being the main reason. We would switch off the timer in multiplayer, single games would go on for hours, it was that balanced. Top tip: Stack, Pistols, -10 health = Joy
lol slappers My fav was the snes. Many great games on that console, which I still play from time to time
If I grew up with a SNES instead of a Megadrive, I'm sure it might be my favourite... I was looking forward to hearing the opinions of older gamers... few mentions of Ataris and C64's.... Maybe I should add a poll... EDIT: Poll is up... don't know why I didn't think f it before...
im gonna say the original xbox. i never really appreciated any of the older consoles and never bought that many games for them, tho i did have a nes, megadrive, n64,playstation,dreamcast and ps2 so i had a few lol the first time i got the xbox home and opened up the box i was just :-O i was amazed at how good it was even tho it weighed a ton and was loud lol.. dreamcast is a definite second place, i still love that one now in fact.
I was battling with myself as to whether it should be there, but then I thought we'd all have to answer stupid questions from some nutter who reckons his PC is 'the uber pwnage'... so I put it up. Please don't vote for it...
