I have been very bored indeed. Though in the past 15 months I've got really good at baking and making jewellery...

Did you get a good redundancy deal? I survived 11 years of hell in a job I couldn't stand so it got me a years wages with only £500 of that taxable :D It also costs a lot less to stay at home rather than go into town every day too so it's lasted me pretty well.

Got a pretty decent package, especially considering that I've only been with them for 3 years. I'd rather use it for something *cough* useful *cough* like a shiny new car rather than taking some time out, spending it all, getting used to not working and then having to easy my way back in to the real world

    Nice one! :)

I only planned to take the Summer off to go travelling (never did - but that's not all my fault) and go to loads of festivals (did two). Then I found it really hard to get a job :( It's the whole not being desperate for money yet thing combined with hating my job so much before that I was suicidal almost every day I was there. It means I'm currently looking for a job that I will enjoy. But I can see myself going for anything soon just to get me out of the damn house!

Another genius thing is my contract stated I could never work for IBM again (shaaaaaaaame :p ) and so if I work anywhere that TUPEs out to IBM they have to give me redundancy :D

18 / M / Student, bar staff, post clerk, labourer and computer technician currrently. Very busy. I'd be gobsmacked if I get the grades I need for uni, I've had far too many jobs this year.

I've found it has started to pick back up a bit in the last couple weeks after everyone being on holiday for the last couple months. I did start stressing myself out a month or so ago since there was literally *nothing* around here. I was putting myself up for rubbish jobs with rubbish pay and a daft commute that now I think "why on earth did I do that?". I figure I can either resent it for ages or make sure I make the most of it, so I've gotten over it now and just hanging around until I find something that is spot on :thumb:

Heh, I'll have to tell my fiance to call off the plans, then. The 'some day it'd be nice' is more in reference to living on opposite sides of the US for the last year and a half, and still having another six months to go. Long distance relationships suck, never do it.

But you're probably right about IT. Does working in IT count as an irreconcilable difference?

I'm not working, I am turning up for work mind you. I'm in IT Service Delivery at the moment but my real interest lies in storage, which is where I'm going from here.
