hehe, solved the problem, turns out that getting the damn schematics in the right place is a real bitch, this time i drilled some holes and fixed it with polts.. also added some foam cloth under the contact joint... works fine now, going to work on it when i get some time....

hehe, long time no see :D
been a bit busy... making virtual computers is much more simple

well, i always wanted to do some yellow lettering somewhere on the case but i didnt have yellow paint, even considered buying but a few days ago, i had some luck.... dad had a rather strange task this time... getting a dent out of this bad boy:
as there was no color code, they used spray bought from the tractor company
    [IMG]
now, I NEED YOUR HELP! to come up with ideas on what to spray on it, i was thinking of adding a few icons below the switches and an arrow like those "rescue" ones on planes but i would also like to but some random text on it, like a model number or something... to give it a military look so if anyone has an idea for the text and placement, please let me know! :naughty:

Congrats on perfect free paint.

I'm still in the "no paint" group BUT if you paint it I'd recommend doing the plates under the switches and around the fans. Also the bands around the top & bottom as well as any raised areas (around the window, MB tray, ...).

Then I'd take a wire brush to it and scratch half of it off. :D

actually, my idea was using some cloth or fibre on wet paint :lol:aluminium is way too soft for a wire brush anyway :D

and you reminded me of my original plan! lol, how could i forgot that... wanted to add yellow&black stipes on the edge of those button plates, should be seen on some sketch a few pages back

hehe, this is great thanks for the reminder! :D

it was a rather strong paint, reacted with the black stuff but this has a nice industrial look actually.

well, to be honest, this really doesnt have the "wibe" i think il go it over with steel wool, if that doesnt help, il remove the paint from the handle and if that doesnt work, il just take it all off :wallbash:

Finally the paint :D it looks good but it looks to new steel wool will do the trick i think.

I have one idea, just as a detail wouldn't it be cool to make a small keyhanger (instead of the green keycord) in the style of the model tag on your case.

    Succes with the paint:D

actually, the green thing was just lying around and someone attatched it to the key... been to lazy to remove it.
the key itself will be modded and ofchource a keychain will be added.

but yeh, the paint really needs some treatment.... too damn clean :blah:

Looks great so far - I don't personally like the paint on the handle, seems out of place imo - and such authorities doesn't usually paint handles, but the area AROUND them, as to clarify where you've got to look. So I suggest you make those caution-stripes AROUND the area with the handle?

And for the sides, I'd love to see a yellow/black radioactive sign painted - you already got it in aluminium, it's just needs paint. And when the paint's dry, scratch with some spikey thingies as to illustrate age and weariness. It's a russian low-tech bomb, isn't it - never handled with care ;) Kick to it, make some bumbs into it, dent it - anything that makes it look as it has been around the world 5-10 times tied behind a russian truck!!! :)

I'm impressed of what you've managed to scavenge for that mod - really good work there! I hope I could help you with my ideas?
    Happy modding!

    /Frido
