I don't know "how Belgian" you are, but if you grew up in Belgium you should be aware of the back-and-forth jokes between the Dutch and Flemish, i.e. "you're stupid", "yeah well, you're cheap and possibly ginger" etc?

However, the way I imagined that conversation reading it from your post does seem offensive, unless she's really bad at meeting people and just sh*t herself out of nervousness and what came out of her mouth was more feces than words. Either way, I would be offended (being Flemish) by what she said the way I imagined the conversation.

But, whatever your and her heritage/background/etcetera, like everyone else said, moving stuff that is not yours around is just not done. That's the sign of both the Bitch and Beast, and should be dealt with accordingly. I'd hate to have a housemate touching my stuff, let alone putting it in goddamed bin bags and putting it in my/someone's room. It pisses me off just thinking about it.

If all else fails, you can always go "twosies" on her bed. I think that's what the stars in Jamie's post meant anyway. If anything it'll make your opinion of her actions very, very clear. ;)

racism isn't very becoming. i know a load of cool Belgian and frankly sweeping gestures stigmatizing an entire country of people displays ignorance to a fine culture.

Well I was born in belgium, my mother is fully belgian, family has a house in belgium and I see my belgian relatives regularly. So I'm belgian enough to know what it's like, and I've never encountered dutch people that are like that on first impressions, banter has been had but only with good friends and I would think that's a reasonable assumption for anyone. There are back and forth jokes I know, but secretly, they aren't joking at all in my experience! When my mum found out this bint was Dutch, she just laughed and said "well there's your problem, be prepared for a baaad year.", they are all at it!!

Anyway that's all pretty irrelevant as I'm not willing to make an assumption on her being Dutch just like she did to me, as apart from it being morally wrong, I'd be just as bad as her.

    Onto pictures :D

I know kitchens have been in a worser state but ours was pretty good when we left it. The living room won't mean much to you guys but just a pic to show the rug stuffed behind the chair

Your dishes are in boxes next to the tiolet :eeek: eeewwwww <insert vomiting smiley>

Considering how much splashing of water and vapours there would be when flushing and urinating I would be throwing them out and making her pay for them.

It has been shown that having your toothbrush in a bathroom with a toilet built in to it causes your toothbrush to get fecal (sp?) bacteria in it from the vapours that are emanated from a toilet when it is flushed or urinated into.

Give her 1 chance to make amends and if she doesn't then boot her out asap.

Depends how close the sink is to the toilet. I just flush with the lid down.

Agree with gar (for once). This matter could and should have been resolved on day one. It is really quite simple. You put to this new tenant:

    1. You are moving into shared accommodation. This means that you share space, facilities and utilities with others.

    2. You were aware of the condition of the accommodation before you signed the contract and moved in (unless you failed to inspect the premises before you signed, in which case it's on your own head). Signing is an explicit agreement to the conditions. You cannot complain afterwards.

    3. Shared living is based on a mutual negotiation, agreement and compliance by the house rules. Everyone has the same rights and entitlements as you. Everyone has to respect each other's rights and entitlements. Persistent breach and disregard of the rules will result in termination of the contract: i.e. you leave.

Anything else is just whining. Deal.

that explains why they make toothpaste minty to hide the taste of crap!

maybe taking a few days to use her toothbrush as a toliet brush and replacing it her space, knowing that she would be using it soon would give great satifaction... that idea makes me vomit already, and now so paranoid i am going to sleep with my toothbrush under my pillow!

lol...did that to my ex... stood beside her as she was brushing her teeth with it... I was laughing my ass off inside... pure satisfaction!

As for Louise? wtf? Can't you kick her out with a majority of the tenants wanting her to go?

    Cheers
