    I thought about posting in this thread the other day. Got my Results for my Highers last Monday (A-levels for you England dwellers)

    Biology = B
    Chemistry = B
    English = B
    Philosophy = C

    Quite pleased with them except Philosophy as I'm really good at philosophy and know my stuff.
    But I should be able to appeal for my prelim exams and turn that C into an A when I return to School.
    This year I'm doing Advanced highers: Biology, Chemistry, English
    A level above A-levels whatever it's called in England.

    Uni next year! :worried:

    Best thing to do is just open them, waiting won't change, open them, find out if you need to do clearing ASAP and get it done.

    DO NOT STRING IT OUT

    QFT.

    Also, if you desperately want to go to a particular city, but don't get the course you want, get on the horn and call up the department. They might have an alternative course to offer you, or something like a Foundation year (which seems like a waste, but from experience it's a brilliant year of doing little and messing around lots, even better than a standard first year!)

    Only got my As results today but I had read this and decided to follow your advice, does help a lot as you said can't change anything and I found did make the experience a lot less stressful! So just thought I would say thank you.

    AS Grades: Eng Lit., Maths, Phys, Bio, General, Chem
    AAAAAB

    Nice one! Thats basically what me and most of my friends did (except I took on English Lit as well :geek: :p)

    1 year down the line, I'm glad I did. I'll be dropping English (with an A at AS Level), ready to take on the nitty gritty stuff for a year at A2...

    ... and I need to resit a chemistry module :wallbash:

    Geek :p

    You'll either love it or hate it. I just did all that and I loved every subject.
    You've got to be dedicated to doing a good job though.

    I think i'm the only person in my year group choosing those subjects.
    Yup, it should be fun. I prefer subjects where there is only one straight answer unlike essay subjects. :hip:

    Yeah - got to love the sciences.

    BTW, do you live on the Channel Islands? Where do you go to school?

    Biology has some essays, but not many since there can sometimes be not a straight answer (like arguing behavior in animals, the origin of said behavior can be debated).
