News Team17 to remake Alien Breed

Team17 is stepping away from the Worms franchise for a little bit and will be remaking the original Alien Breed game.

 

Thats the best news I've heard in ages... not sure if that in itself is a good thing or a bad thing

 

Woohoo! Alien Breed was an awesome game! I personally think the recreaction of ancient 1990s games is a great way forward as an alternative to endless sequals: low risk, but high reward, and still quite creative and fresh!

Now if they'd only make a guine combat flight simulator remake of Thunder Force IV, I'd cream myself.

 

don't fail me Team17. I was thinking of finding my amiga out to play this. This might just save a lot of work

 

If they remake anything for the Amiga then I insist on these games in this order:

Hunter
Xenon 2: Megablaster
Hostages!
Captain Blood

That is all.

 

looks sweet, never played it, but in wiki found reference to Gauntlet 2 which was never able to play on comodore as loving mum got me sequel or something lol on a cassete tape hmmmmm feeling nostalgic whilst downloading gauntlet2 and origanal Alien Breed to play at work, only at lunchtime!

 

There are "controversies"... Amiga the best compie ever?

I know it's a matter of personal taste, but i prefer MSX - the Z-80 processor.

And I am not sure, but i think commodore 64 was the best selling computer in all time.

About thunder force i prefer the third one. Still the best music on games ever. I still have them on my compie

 

Edit: also Supercars 2 and Moonstone are due a rehash

 

only thing I can add is: WOOOHOOO!!!! hopefully T17 will just update the graphics and not make to many changes.

 

i think just publishing the original to XBL, PSN, Steam etc would be a more viable economic venture... and I'd get to play it sooner

All fps games "new features" like destructible environment, ride any vehicle, fly any vehicle, 3D, huge maps like in oblivion, interaction like in rpg games, pay the government if you demolish something etc etc etc. It was all availably in "hunter", and we talking 1991 here folks.

Captain blood, only positive things where the samples of the voices like "Hyperspace" and such voces (also used in various trance/hardstyle house records) and the J. M. Jarre "intro-music" afcourse! The rest of the game was well.. eh.. weird.

Xenon is freely availabe on the pc from the great BItmap Brothers: called xenon2000 project

Hostages had only 3 screens of action.. well actually i remember 2 action screens.


If there is one game that would qualify for a update, it would be "Another world" from Delphine software. And maybe a few others like Future Wars - Time traveler, Time Bandit, Dungeon Master, Gauntlet 2 and afcourse "Elite"

I dunno, some of the Psygnosis games were pretty good, IIRC.

Although it's such a long time ago now and my memory isn't what it once was - I can't actually remember any Psygnosis titles off the top of my head. All I remember is that they were cool games, and they had that "Yes" style logo.

 

I remember buying the A1200 only version. 256 colours on screen at the sametime!! Those were the days.

 

Lemmings, Barbarian, Shadow of the Beast, Wipeout and Destruction Derby are the ones that spring to mind .

I had no idea they had been bought out by Sony in 2000.

Edit: I almost forgot the Discworld P'n'C games.

 

A new/Remake of Shadow of the Beast would be good.
