    Now that's interesting, 1080i works on my 2407 but is grainy as heck, 720p is beautiful, but the menus flake out no matter what mode I'm running, it's acting almost as if it's overscanning or something. I'll have to plug it into my 2405 to see what it does...

    running it over component?

    At 1080i I get blackness and occassionall kinda of out-of-tune tv type images.

    You still got my old 2405? 1080i over component was no problem at all, sounds like you have a dodgy cable or something, or is it just a problem with Wipeout.

    Have you tried just setting 1080i in the PS3 and no other display options?

    I have the feeling that Wipeout only supports the Progressive modes but I've not tried that to be able to confirm. I normally disable the interlace modes on the PS3 as they are inferior to the Progressive ones :)

    Just a problem with wipeout, every other game I have (PSN or disc) works fine, it'll be fine from next week as I say, just a weird thing.

    I still kinda wished I had gone for a 50" Plasma but long term running costs put me off big time so a 46" LCD it was, and it does look beautiful at 1080p that size, there is no doubt.

    Doug; as I say, I think its a Wipeout only supporting progressive scan thing ;)

    Yup. Component's the only way to go in my setup. And I only have these issues with Wipeout HD, nothing else has problems, not my 360, not my Wii, none of my games on any of the systems, nothing. And all of them go through the same cables to the 2407 (I have everything hooked up to a nice HD A/V switch). AND it's ONLY the menu screens that mess up. lol

    Set acceleration sensitivity to 10% and I suggest going for the 'Airbraker' silver trophy ASAP (tip set your airbrakes to R1 L1 and airbrake sensitivity to 60-80%). Doing that trophy will increase your cornering skill greatly.

    Anybody got Bling Brigade yet? Maybe we could schedule a race some time?
