Clean blades are infinitely better than re-using her scabby blunted, bloodstained old ones.

And I have known my housemate long enough to not try to stop her, unless the music turns up in which case leave it ten minutes and make sure she's ok.

Mind you, given some of the **** she's had to go through, its hardly surprising that she still self harms.

Raped twice, beaten 6 ways from sunday, left home alone with her sister for days at a time when they were 6 or 7, and the thing that made my "Eww..." meter rise, they had a water ration at one point, and so her mother, after shagging her boyfriend at the time, would run herself a bath, get all clean, and the girld would have to use the same bathwater. As her boyfriend (my other housemate) said, "yum, sloppy seconds."

I don't pretend to understand why she does it, I just make sure that if I can help, I do.

Oh, and sticky buns are regularly consumed in our house. No difference..

It's difficult too deal with, and hard to stop, if she's been doing it regularly for a long time. I guess having clean blades makes it "better" as it's safer. But it's not really helping her to stop either.
Stupid question, have you tried getting her help?

 

My next purchase is either a new 8 or 16 gb ipod nano, a 8gb ipod touch, or repair my 30 gb video which has a clicking hard-drive and is out of warranty. We shall see how much they want for the repair.

 

..Damn, well, I'm all out of ideas.

 

You could always repair it yourself, just get a compact flash card and wire it up.

EDIT: Oh and season one of House, some coloured paper for this thread. Some chocolate wafer sticks and some blank DVDs.
