Case Mod - In Progress Jeff's HTPC A.K.A the happy hippy

well Bit-tech'ers my computer guru is in need of a mod. jeff helps me with any and all things computer so i am going to mod the sh!t out of this .... well im at a loss for what to call it. it is a computer but it can be so much more. this is a chance for me to try my hand at some new things and not have to pay for it. plus its a great way to pay jeff back for all his help.

well im in the middle of a week off and jeff has been hounding me for his case so i started cutting, sanding, and bondo'ing (that stuff can screw you up if your doing it in a confined area)

cut the windows, the bottom most part will be mesh the rest will be plexi. sanded it down, will prime and paint will be next.

and im now realizing looking at the pics that i let no place for the power switch

 

You could mount it as a prop spinner for the fan I'm assuming goes in that intake.
Like this:-



I mean mount a spinner on a frame in front of the fan, and hide your power switch behind it.
To turn on the PC, press the spinner.

 

Nice cuts on the side panel. Eagerly awaiting more.

the coolest part about the whole thing was that bill delivered them him self. (it dose help that i live close to him) we talked about the two mods i have going on right now and he gave me some hits and tips

thanks bill! im thinking we need to have a Twin City's mod and game night. some of the local guys could get together share moddin tips play some games and extend our networks.

 

You know, back in the day eMachines were really cost effective PCs. Our family bought 3 of them one time from WalMart. I still have and use the electronics from a P4 2.8 eMachine. It has lived in my RocketFish Lian-Li case since the case came out. P4 478 chip mATX durable PC with XP. I never knew what to do to save the original cases so they all got transplants. This is good work. I'm watching.

there was a nice eMachine in the woot off today, there still around out there

 

well the weather is going south on us up hear and the hippy is getting antsy. it seams he doesn't like running his media computer in his entertainment center with out a case. and just to spice things up a bit work thought two weeks at home was to long so im heading to California for a week. but enough complaining i was able to get a base coat of paint on the panels and a new layer of evercoat everglass on the front (instead of bondo on bills recommendation, and boy was he right that stuff rocks!)

so on to the pics

the side with the black paint down.(still more to come, gonna look a little wilder plus i have to decide on plexi i have clear, green, and two different blues)

She is getting there. You have quite a bit of sanding to do lol.
