Although I can only imagine a CK review being a painful raping of the English language, I would quite like to know just how good these fans are, and I'm sure it'd benefit you to write a short techy piece as well :thumb:.

Well I have 8 :D they are on my TFC X-Changer Quad 480 which is hooked up to...nothing yet

They also come with a lot of stuff. Switch for LEDs, rubber screw thingies, 3pin to 4pin converter.

Have you actually compared them to or ever used the Noctua fans? I doubt there's going to be a discernible difference however the Noctuas are more readily available in the UK.

edit: It seems I'd gotten a bit mixed up- the Noctua NF-S12s are in fact 8db at max (as opposed to the Enermax's 8-14db) but shift 15cfm less on full speed. It'd be interesting to know in that case if there's an audible difference between the two as I'd like to build myself a practically silent PC when possible and would obviously need the quietest fans on the market.

The NF-S12 has really really low pressure... it can barely get air through heatsinks. If you have an unrestrictive [i mean REALLY unrestrictive... the S12 noticeably loses airflow against almost anything] grill on the front/back of your case, it makes an excellent case fan but for heatsink use you probably want to look into the NF-P12.

    Lies.
And these fans are claimed to be quieter than that? Bollocks.

Both Enermax and Noctua are faking the noise specs.

Falling leaves make a sound of 10dB. I don't think a fan can be quieter than that.

The problem is that it's very difficult to measure the noise accurately. Ambient noise is usually ~20-30dB.

Fan makers always make up numbers, which is why we use sites like SPCR and bit to figure out how fans compare to each other, not to a fudged absolute measurement taken in a nonexistent 0dB room.

One very related quote i heard once about SilenX went something like this - "I'm sure SilenX's noise measurements are completely accurate, measured from 100m away." Since fan makers don't have to say how they measure noise, they can do whatever they want to get the best numbers. Again, reading reviews [more than one!] is probably the only way to say for sure whether a fan is quieter than another.
