Thanks for making my little cube case look like ****.

I just need to find a decent sized radiator or good mounting point before I give mine the modding touch.

Takes a lot of patience if you have to keep sanding it. Looks good Ryan..

Keep up the good work. I love the design and think that it is a great mod and have been following for a while.
Just wondering whether there has been any updates to it recently.
    Thanks

Thanks for all of your comments everyone! I enjoy reading them.

Yea.. updates lol. I've been pretty busy with A levels and just got back from Iceland but I have started to get back into it as I really want to finish this case.

Anyway, I wasn't quite happy with the finish of the paint as there were two slight raised areas from the filler that could be seen in natural light and the paint exaggerated them quite badly so I had to rub it back down but now I am finally happy with the end finish.

countless coats of paint with 1200-2000 in between and then finally five coats of clear but it has been worth it IMO. Im going to give the paint about two-three weeks to completely harden before I buff it to bits ;)

A quick video that shows the paint job pretty well.

Paint looks awesome, very shiny, no orange peal. Not to mention a fantastic colour.

Thank you very much! All that is left to do now is paint now is the three side panels, fit the perspex, tidy up the cables and possibly get a Thermaltake Media LAB VFD to match my Kama Meter.

I think it would look pretty good and even better with a perspex cover over both of them that makes them appear as one unit. I Just need to find one at a decent price from the UK.

Its hard to take a photo that shows that does the paint justice, but this one shows the reflectivity quite well

Please excuse all the cables but the sides are on now just to show you what its going to look like but once this project is complete I will take some decent photos!

    To Do:
    Perspex side windows x3
Perspex front bezel cover with cut outs for the slot loader and control knobs - window tinted
A PCI bracket mounted button to turn off all of the case lighting, including fan LEDs
    Some extreme cable tidying

    Thanks!

Once I get a PSU that doesn't have near-solid cables it should be a lot easier ;)

But those cables just look so pretty... I suppose a re-sleeving job is in order?

Paintwork looks great... don't scratch that now...

    Teeeny Tiny update

Got me some dark mirrored window film :D

First I need some perspex but im going to apply film to the front of bezel cover to start with and I may end up using it on the 3 windows aswell.

Even from a distance of a few inches you can read the LCD perfectly (in real life, not my terrible photo lol)

Really nice job on the stock bezel, mate. I really hated the stock bezel on these cases, which is why at the time I ditched it and made a custom front on mine. You made the stock bezel look great!

Thanks man, I really appreciate it! I love the job you did on your Microfly.. I wish I had your perspex skills at the moment, I need to make the front cover and its going to be a bitch cutting an uber thin slot to line up with my slot loading DVD drive :hehe:

    GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

You can pretty much guess what happened, the super sticky 3M tape which was bloody perfect for sticking the cones on the fan hubs gave out and has left a nice scratch all the way around in the inside of the turbine intake :sigh: Sadly I was at school when it happened (torrenting) so it was probably grinding for a while before it fell off :( :(

Now I need to mask off the inside of the turbine to respray it if I can't wet sand out the scratch, I also need to respray the cone :/

on a positive note.. im using an uber cool laser cutter some time next week to machine the front piece of perspex for the drive bays. :cooldude:
