Im building my first gaming rig and have a hard time choosing between a Q6600 go or a e8400 or any other cpu but i have a budget that limits me to Q9300 at the most. Im just gonna be playing games mostly but will do a bit of video editing . my pc specs: MOTHERBOARD- gigabyte ep45-ds3r RAM- corsair dominator 4gb 2X2 HARD DRIVE- 320g sata hd CASE- coolermaster cm 690 or haf932 POWER SUPPLY- coarsair hx620w GRAPHICS CARD- xfx 9800gx2 Please do tell me what cpu i should get and if u have any other ideas like if u dont like my motherboard or something that would be better for my rig. THANKS
Everything looks fine to be honest, If you are solely gaming I would say get the E8400, video editing, I would say get the Q6600. The only thing I would possibly change is the 9800GX2, don't know how much it is these days but I'd say get the HD4870, or the HD4870x2 (if budget allows) or GTX280 (again, if budget allows) or even the HD4850, excellent card for just over £150. Where are you (and so what currency are you working in) and what's your budget?
Ok i got a 9800GX2 coz it had good benchmarks of the games i liked . I was thinkin of gettin a 4870 but got the 9800gx2 already . Good thing was i got the 9800GX2 for like 300$USD. thanks for your opinion wat about a e8500 instaed of an e8400 wat do u think and i need rig to last so does quad core really benefit future games
ah right, that's fair enough then, E8500 isn't worth it, it's quite a bit more expensive for .16GHZ (if I remember correctly) which isn't worth it at all. The E8400 overclocks so well you will be laughing!
I say you can never future proof a computer and so, at the moment, games don't run on more than 2 cores meaning the E8400 is best at the moment. Aim to please
aight sure to go with e8400. im not making a bad choice right. hey dude do u play any fps like call of duty 4
