I think the problem was they didn't really seem to know whether they wanted to focus on Bond's revenge or the current predicament, as a result both plots were so washed out they didn't really seem to be there.

The villain completely sucked too. No laser cannons, no explosions, no, it's British Gas.

I haven't bothered watching QOS because I didn't really like Casino Royale, and it would seem that QOS is similar but less good.
Frankly, I think the last decent Bond film was Goldeneye.
I've been disappointed ever since, either by Pierce Brosnan's over-the-top shallow BS, or Daniel Craig's un-engaging derivative grittiness.

I actually quite like the theme though :D

I liked Casino Royale way more. I think Quantum was over done.

im gonna go out on a limb and say I preferred it to casino royale. wasn't the best bond by any means obviously but it was never going to be....I enjoyed it, that's about all really. Thought the bond girl was a bit rubbish though.

I actually thought it was slightly better than Casino Royale, but however the fight scenes were slightly over cherographed.

I thought the lead bond girl was well, average at best, but the english agent.. oooofffftt!

i found some of the action scenes just too fast paced to keep up with, i.e the speed boat scene, where they kept cutting camera angles what felt like every 5 seconds.

And unless your a geek, or know a little about the advancing energy technologies, the hotel blowing up would have seemed 'odd'.

Ford plugging its hydrogen cars twice was a piss take.

The bond needed to be an 18, because there trying to do a gritty hard edged bond, where he would use torture to get his infomation. And i miss the classic bond villan, where they tell bond the plot, so at least the dumber viewers get an idea of whats going on!

Saw it this afternoon, thought it was bland bordering on rubbish. I hate films that use 16 shaky cameras and cutting between them every second on action sequences. it just makes everything hard to follow, for instance the fight on the scaffolding took me 30 seconds to work out who was dangling from the rope at the end. i didn't even realise it was a hotel at the end, I was trying to workout how Bond found this desert base and a car in the 2 mins from when we last saw him. and what kind of engineer builds easily explodable cells at the bottom of a ramp into a garage? had me just scratching my head. on the plus side the Ben and Jerry's Milk shake was excellent from the concessions stand

Haven't seen it, don't want to see it. Haven't seen Casino Royale apart from the part where Daniel Craig gets his nads beaten by a big length of rope with a knot in the end - I must be ill, cause that part creased me, and I'm a bloke. I just don't like anything Mr. Craig is involved in, so funnily enough, I just watch all the old ones.

See now, I really quite liked the Pierce Brosnan Bond. He was quirky, had some of the fittest chicks imagineable for Bond girls (Denise Richards, Halle Berry, Sophie Marceau and Teri Hatcher, I'm looking at you!) But Brosnan seemed to carry on the tradition of a good character, who could smirk at the one-liners, and be on his way and save the world, much like Roger Moore, except without the hint of camp that I felt he brought to it.

    Just my £0.02.

    No.
I thought the film was good, but not the bond film I'm used to.
I prefered the slower, better plot of Casino Royale - to much action too fast in this.

I actually enjoyed the film, and the theme is gaining on me too.
While i did enjoy the film, i can certainly see why people are saying too much Bourne.

Indeed, I love the Theme, tis an awesome song.

The film I thought was pretty good, and went back to the old skool Bond a little too i.e. Big ass bad guy base at the end.

It's a film, enjoy it, don't be picky.

It was perfectly watch-able and enjoyable, but I didn't have the same gritty new feel that I fell in love with, with Casino Royale which was thoroughly missed.

i guess i shouldn't be surprised (it's a bond film after all) that 'fuel-cell power' translated to poorly designed hydrogen tanks every 10 yards throughout a building...

That's the problem, many of us didn't really enjoy it, we can't really enjoy it just because we should.

I would actually say this is almost as bad as Die Another Day
