    And here's the first aledged official pic of the good 'ole NCC1701, no bloody A, B, C or D. :)

    Looks a lot like Enterprise from TMP, but with tubular front cross section nacelles. And just to satisfy Nexxo, Chrome nacelle caps.

    The front deflector still looks like it sticks out like the TOS enterprise (it's not built in like the TMP and all the others after) - It's just blue rather the red. Obviously Scotty has been hard at work swapping out all those red LEDs.

    I like it. It's not a radical redesign, more a merging of the refit Enterprise and the original. With Chrome. :)

    I like it, not a lot, but i like it. Its a little too sexy the thing i liked about TOS was the slightly industrial feel about it, 1701D always felt a little too organic compared to its predecessors.

    Just been wading through pages of vitriol (OMFG! What have you done! I'm Boycotting!!) and the occasional bit of praise on the official movie web site forum, and someone has posted this comparison between the incarnations of the Entrerprise :

    The new movie enterprise has had the shuttles removed, and the nacelles coloured (the OP is desperate for it to have glowey red nacelle tips)

    Is it just me or does it feel a little squat compared to the others?

    At least this design you could imagine how they got from original to refit, the refit Enterprise always seemed to much of a stretch compared to the original.

    Hey i'll watch it but in my head i'll be imagining the original...

    Meh, I like it. People try and make things as shiney as possible already, and lets face it, if you had a space ship, you'd fit chrome nacelle caps and stick a few UV Tunes underneith :D

    Sounds good - and clears up that the Enterprise in this film, does, indeed, get built on Earth. Little Jimmy Kirk would have a hard time riding his bike in LEO... ;)

    Of course, the pursits will whine that Jimmy Kirk doesn't live in San Francisco - He's from Iowa. He only works in space. :D

    Trailer is on the front of QoS in the states, and, as per the natural scheme of things, someone smuggled a camcorder into the cinema. Here's the first theatrical trailer in all it's shaky cam-ness.



    The official site will have it up in a much more watch-able format 2 days & 7 hours time.

    It has the guy from Harold and Kumar! But, I think this will be a miss for me. I'm not an avid Star Trek fan.

    Those actors have big shoes to fill. Critical eyes will be watching. Still they can't be any worse than Anakin Skywalkers performance....can they?:D

    Or Billy Shatner, he is a terrible actor and wanted for crimes against grammar under 1921 commas act. Got the rose glasses on? Watch some of the original series.

    Any one should be able to play Jim Kirk better, can't they? :worried:

    Your joking right? Shatner had his flaws but oozed charisma. He came across as a natural confident leader. Shatner in his day could hold a scene together on his own. Then again I do admit to being biased as I prefer the Original series over all others.
    But yes the rose tinted glasses are firmly on.:D
