Case Mod - In Progress Project: Nvidia Stacker 832 - HDD and Cables - Feb 11th

Intro
Hello, I've been lurking these forums for a while, and really enjoy what I see. I decided to do a simple case mod.

About the Mod
I don't have a big budget, so I decided to do something simple, and something that would give me experience. I've been wanting to do a Warsow mod for a while, but it ended up being too expensive and difficult. I also don't like the devs.

I can't really get into this spot. Is there an accessory that might be able to help, or should I try the right angle one? And how will I be able to cut out the rest of the logo?

Can you reach the spot with a scroll saw?
Or you could drill two holes and use an jigsaw + file to get a nice straight corner.

I don't have a scroll saw, so I'll do the jigsaw method.

 

why dont u try to cut it from outside..i think it will b easier but u have to draw a new one..

New parts!
Two EVGA GTX 260 Core 216 SCs, a Noctua NH-U12P, an NF-P12 (already owned, for push/pull), an NF-B9 (for retired 8800 GT with HR-03 GT), and four NF-S12s.


A Successful Upgrade
I also flipped the mobo tray, cause this case is awesome. The cabling is kinda whack right now.



Theres also been progress on the cut out, but I don't have pics yet.

I didn't see the question about the cut until now, but a Dremel flexi shaft attachment might help out with it or possibly a bigger diameter cutting disc? Good luck

you're using a wrong disk for cutting such thick aluminum.
you should use one of these
they cut much faster and are far more durable



or the plain ones (non speed-click system)



some tight spots can be trimmed with a vertical cutting tool like this



and when you finish with the big rough cuts
get yourself a set of small files to sharpen the corners and smooth the edges



also i'd suggest dissasembling the fans and painting them...
brown and ivory don't really match with the nVidia green
unless you're drawing trees on a piece of paper
I think a black-green pattern like the nanoxia fans would be much better

I bought some disks similar to those a while back, but I wasn't using them because they're off centered and wobble a lot. I'll get the ezlock ones since they probably wont wobble.

I also bough a couple cutting bits. One like the one you posted and one kinda like this which is working better for me:



I haven't found a small file set at any hardware store, and I looked a long time ago at a few hobby shops for my hobby and never found any. I'll try and look online for some, it would definitely help.

I was planing on painting them, but not disassembling them. I saw those fans a while back before they were released and I couldn't remember the name. I Probably going to use those on the window.

 

It would help us all with suggesting tools and suppliers if you tell us where you are. We have users from Malaysia to the Ukraine. Pick a place - somebody here can help you source affordable tools.

How does that setup look?

 

Lol, forgot to get the mounting brackets for the GPUs. Costs me $25.

 

The loop would look better if you went from GPU to GPU instead of splitting the line.
