    looking great!
    love the decal

how are you going to hide all of the cables going to the hdd's?
i suggest mounting them backwards to you see less of the cables
also you could make two custom sata power daisy chain things with a bunch of pass through sata connectors so that you at least dont have to worry about power cable clutter

have fun dealing with the data cables though :wallbash:

    A new day, a new update =)

Ah well... finally getting close to completing this one, stuff is coming together quite well, and the computer is booting !

Lets take this step by step though...

    New shipment

Not much to say about this one, finally received my OCZ flex kit to fill in the other mobo, and some 120mm fractal design fans rated at 19db

    Etches!

Was over at a good friend a few days ago and got him to cut out a decal my ladie had drawn for a earlier project, the application is quite simple too, just tape it up, apply some force, and take off the upper layer of foil, and there we go ^^

Booting it up, the first run!

The time had finally come, time to boot it all up !

And to my huge dissapointment... IT REFUSES TO BOOT WITH TWO LSI CONTROLLERS -.- god.... the frustration was overwhelming... waiting for reply from asus on this one...

Anyways... got some first temp readings up too, and it looks more then promissing, the temperature havent budged, even after a 24 hour idle with both systems on, still showing under 25c =) The water keeps a decent 18c too, and all the disks keep under 27c, same with the 15k rpm sas drives

Will get some stress tests soon, just need to get OS installed first

    Cable management

This part has caused some headaches too, trust me :p

Anyways, quite simple going, just some patience and alot of plastic strips, didnt turn out that bad at all imo, was quite alot of sleeving that was needed on the cable splits though

    10cm to short

The 8 pin ATX power cable was ofcourse to short =/ had to cut it open and extend it, wired it all up on the backplate of the mobo when i was done though, so turned out OK

Just read through all that, impressive! You have done a very good neat job.

You must have a mega internet connection if you want to fill all that space up, cool though.

this build is just crazy... will you post the over all specs on the hardware when you got some time ? i know you have altered and changed things as you went along.

btw what you did with that "rats nest" of wiring inside that rig is simply amazing. i couldnt believe what you did with all that wire. the way you stacked the SATA cables was rockin i like that idea gonna have to use that on my new project. I noticed you run a P5Q prem board, thats cool cause thats what i just upgraded too not long ago and it is simply amazing, i love asus products...

    Indeed - with 36 spaces available combined with Seagate's new '2TB' drive, he'd have;

    68662640.64mb of space.

For the record, my first USB stick was 128mb. Unless my maths is off by a decimal point or so, this would be roughly 15,000 of those on each drive, or a grand total of 536,000 in total. My first iPod was '15GB'; grevaeg would need big pockets to keep the 4859 of them that it would be the equivalent of.

I hesitate to point out that at £200/drive, which is predicted, it would also be £7200.

    thanks for the maths ;)
    interesting comparison !

but better then seagate's 2tb would probably be WD , cause of the firmware... or is that fixed for the seagates??

Hi.. I was just browsing through the work logs section and came across ur awesome rig !! I'm very much impressed !! :jawdrop: But .. as I went through .. I saw that the wc setup ur using and the pump ... I would like to know what pump exactly ur using ..

My wonder is .. will the pump be powerful enough to push all that volume of fluid with enough pressure through all the tubing as well as all the components ??? It has to be one heck of a powerfull pump to do all that work ? .. wont it get spoiled fast if the stress is too much ? :eyebrow:

btw .. out of curiosity , what pump are u using ? .. wouldn't it be stressful for the pump in that very long single loop ?
