    Yeah I have seen those plugs before. Antec give them with fans as a 3pin-molex adapter, they are quite good. They save a ton of room and are easy to daisy chain together. Sorry, I can't help you with the whole PSU thing, I'm not that great with voltages.

    I would lean towards more than one just to be on the safe side.
    Grevaeg has 1 custom sata power cable powering four HDD's in his 20TB Rig

    I don't think you will be pulling enough juice to need any more than one. Most power supplies have plugs on a single line for 5 drives. You also have a full set of fan jacks on the motherboard.
    The big IF I see is the SATA plug. It has a 5th wire. You might need 2 female molex plugs - one extra for the single orange wire.

    You could also get see if you can 'edit' your 24 pin plug. I know that some of the lines are unused by the motherboard. (Prolly no good. I don't remember any unused orange lines...)

    You can get Molex to SATA adapters and they only use 4 wires.

    Yeah I'm pretty sure the molex-SATA adapters just get rid of one of the black (ground) wires.

    Here is what I have found today. I've been off re-installing XP with SP2 for a lan party friend. Now he wants to watercool his DFI LanParty board! I told him see me in a month.

    My Jetway board is rated at 18 watts, it's newer than Cheaps's Mother's build. Appears to have have different caps - same size but different colo(u)r.

    I have 2 Silenx 40mm fans at 12 volts and 0.24 watts each. One res/pump at what unkown voltage and wattage, and one 3.5" 250 Gb HDD, the 12 V LED cannons. All done.

    I have been surfing and digging in my walkin stash closet. The MB has a 20 pin connector - but it has the other 4 pins available but taped over - not needed it appears.

    I have every female connector invented by manufacturers in the last 2 decades EXCEPT the SATA one. I could whack off the SATA connector from the PSU and solder on my own 4 pin female Molex. Why does SATA have 2 grounds when they both go to the same rail internally in the PSU? Current draw? One ground wire not enough current capacity so they use 2?

    Odd.

    Anybody know what the external wires used in a smallish 200-250W PSU is capable of for current? Seems the same size as the 450 - 500W in the closet.

    The current rating should be printed on the wire. (I know... I can't read print that small either.)

    18AWG 80degrees C - 300V

    I'll figure it out. I'm trying to figure the cable lengths(shortnesses) and routing to keep them out of sight mostly. I haven't decided on a single shrinkwrap for the MB connector or individual wire sleeves.

    Not many wires but nice a great surplus of room either. I'll be creative.

    as far as I remember #14-18 AWG can handle 15 amps and more

    but this circuitcalculator com says something else

    there is a link at the top of the page that leads to the calculator itself and there you can change wire sizes and more,

    I step away for 1/2 day to help clean and feed the reptiles and Bit-Tech and you guys did this. :jawdrop:

    I want to thank everyone who has voted for me so far. This has been an interest project and has directly involved several other people on the forum.

    Thank you for the nomination. I'll have a small photo update this evening - cable management in a shoebox is tough.
