And it says FX 3400 on the die. Thacrudd said it was a 6800GT. The output on it is bad, but the card is still fine. If I leave it in my computer in a spare x16 slot, can I use it as a rendering card? Or is there anything interesting i can do with it?
I thought the FX 3400 was a quadro card? Which would mean its designed for rendering/CAD i think. No idea though if what you propose is possible.
Yes the FX 3400 is a Quadro card. I wouldnt be surprised if nVidia rebranded the 3400 to a 6800GT. Do I need to have the card with a monitor on it to use it as rendering? Or will my programs know to render with that card. I am a bit new to rendering, but I need to start to get ready for my Game Design courses in college.
Bump! Using my heat gun, I was able to reflow the solder and make the card work. It is, in fact, a 6800gt with 256mb GDDR3. I'm using it in my mod "Ghettocool" but I would still like to know if I can do anything useful with it.
