Case Mod - In Progress Project Kaintuck! Jan 11 case finished

small update today, started working on the front bezel since it is only part left that has not been finished and heres what i have done to it.

ive decided that im sick and tired of not having any usb audio or firewire ports on the front of my pc so i have purchased a 3.5 bay attachment and im planning on attaching it in the spot provided in the pic above. I got the holes file out and i need to go back with a round file and smooth some of them up but overall it looks pretty good. more updates to come.

Haha, I was once modding a case exactly like this.
I gave up in frustration with the steel and trying to file out the side window.
You've done a great job. Keep up the great work.

 

lmao, the case was made in like dec of 1998 or 99, ull never believe what i used to cut the windows out.... an angle grinder, let the sparks fly. Once it was cut out i went back and filed it down to my likings. Im going to finish the front panel this weekend. Picking up some filler primer and another can of blue paint tomorrow once i get off work and get to modding.

 

Outstanding! I'm a firm believer in the "use a bigger hammer" theory.

 

case is pretty much finished now only thing left is for the 5.25" blank and 2x 3.5 blanks to dry so i can put them in. The rest is history. Enjoy

damn john, you still remember your high school's colors? i only graduated 4yrs ago and i can't remember mine.

nice work on the mod morris, a clean and professional looking final product.

 

They just had 40th reunion. Lots of emails and pics. Never seen so many OLD peeps in one place. Glad I couldn't go. The real colors were Orange and Black but it was a tough go. Black and blue on lots of weekends.

Knives and chains to be checked at door or detention for sure.

thanks for the comments guys keep them coming. I also have a set of 12" ccfls on their way to light the interior up instead of leds and going to pick up some ziptie mounts for cable management, will post pics.

 

Looks very nice for now.I would paint the dvdrw gloss black to mach the scythe controller.

Very nice. This is one of the few occasions that I like all blue. You have spent plenty of time making a fine computer.
