Hey, For a while now I've been looking for a (preferably free) CD and DVD burning application. I used to like Nero until it became the RealPlayer of the DVD burning world (and about 15x worse). Ideally I'd like the instalation size to be something vaguely appropriate for this kind of software (i.e. 40MB). Something ugly and old fashioned that 'just works' in a way that only ancient programs did would be nice...
ImgBurn for burning data/disk images to CD/DVDs. Burrrn for creating audio CDs. DVD Flick/ImgBurn for creating video DVDs. IMO that combo is better that Nero ever was and it's all free
PowerISO also has built-in cd/DVD burning capabilities, which is handy if you also make/mount disc images. One less program to run. It's not naff and proprietary, either, it's pretty good and feature-laden.
Holy thread revival batman! I'm in the same boat but I need one that will not only burn cd's but also allow me to record audio straight from my mic/line-in and then burn that, all in one program. I'm cool with using multiple apps but this is for my church who is currently using RealPlayer and it just needs to stop. It hurts my soul. They just need something simple that works. I looked at all of those and that seems to be the one glaring omission I really need..
