Well if your cold, that is an excuse for folding, that energy gets turned into heat to make your house warmer.

Man these new graphics cards can certainly fold well! I've managed to chew through 50 WU in 5 days, and only 4 on my cpu :S

I ran a couple of wu through on my gtx260 and with it being overclocked, I was wondering why my pooter kept restarting. It turns out that if the gpu hits 75c, it locks up and reboots the pooter. So I set the fan to 92% and it keeps it at 67-68c. Bit noisy though. It's strange that the same overclock runs for hours whilst gaming, with the fan set lower.

The folds must make it work like crazy!

I guess gaming is variable load and doesn't max out all parts of the gpu, whereas folding goes all out. Seems strange that yours locks up at 75 degrees as mine's hit 75 on several occasions and hasn't shown any signs of crashing, mine is at standard clocks though.

Aye, it's strange. It seems to have a pretty drastic overheat protection mechanism. Previous NVidia cards have gone higher, temp-wise.

i have a few lockups using the recent 181.20 driver, when the card is overclocked of course. not sure whether it's temperature issue as i log my temperatures on RAMdisk, which are lost when restart :-/

i just moved a fan down to help cool the GPU, so i'll up the clock again and see if it hard-locks

i can confirm it's not purely due to exceeding some sort of 75 degree limit as my gpu has been at 78 degrees for a while today when folding and hasn't crashed, however that is at stock speed.

Ha, I have my GPU regularly idling at 80 degrees. Goes up to 90 something under load. Is there a folding client that will work on Laptop GPUs?

The folding client will run on any 8 or 9 series gpu that can run cuda, so i'd have thought it would run on your laptop gpu too.

I'm sure this is a lame question, but I don't know how to join the bittech folding team. I don't know if the links from the first page are the correct ones to use as those were posted quite some time ago.

Right now I fold anonymously and I'd like to help the team if possible.

    Thanks,

    Keith

just set team number to: 33346. that's all there is to it!

will be back folding this summer :) going to get back on top. goal: go over 1mil milestone and catch up with BlackPuss.

he's Folding all the time, but i think if i fold 24/7 with my new GTX260, i can do 50 points every 7 days

Is it cheating if I set up 20 or so of these that aren't being used at work?

    It is an option...
