This is the beginning of a computer I'm putting together. Bill Owen is painting it ferrari red to start. The case used will be Silverstones TJ07 I will add more info soon.
Brian's Silverstone TJ07 arrived. I dismantled it last night. We're painting it 2005 Ferrari F430 "Roso Corsa" Red Removing the internal core I love the single piece external construction. I'm not doing anything to the removable MB tray, but wanted to post it anyway. These steel trays are by far the best I've ever seen used. Usually MB trays are flimsy aluminum (*cough, lian li *cough) They would be ideal for a scratch build if Silverstone sells them seperately.
@Bill I really can't believe that "youse guys" really use that table for work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One old blue throw cover on the table and MOD away I wouldn't even eat on it. john
>snippage< I agree with the Aussie Mod God. As the proud father of 2 TJ07s, this could seriously throw a wrench in the gears of my upcoming TJ07 mod. Brian, knowing Bill's paint from the forums and MNPC gallery, that's going to be one sexy rig! You Sir can choose a case and an outstanding place to send it for paint! Wish I was back in the States...
Taker er easy John, ... I'm still waiting for the correct 1/4" thick acrylic cover to arrive. The first one delivered was a goof up and cut to the wrong size.
Brian, what you got planned for hardware? Prepping case surface for base coat last night Bezel for Silverstone SST-CFP51B Aluminum Bay converter with 120mm Fan Side panel, disc sander
I'm going to put the core i7 @ 2.9GHz in it. From what I see and hear, I should be able to push it to 3.5GHz easy on air. I'm still on the fence as to if I want to water-cool it or not. Anyone with incite on this topic, I would greatly appreciate it. The Asus Rampage Extreme II Core i7 / Intel X58 Motherboard is going in it too. I really like that board and the color scheme. I see some boards out there with these horendous orange and baby blue colors. Why would they do that (cough: GIGABYTE)?? If I don't water-cool it, I think I'll go with this crazy ba$tard for the heatsink. Two 74gig Raptors in a raid array for the OS drive. And 2 velosoraptor 300gig for the storage drives. For the OS.... I'm on the fence again. I might go with Windows beta 7 for now... For anyone who has not had the chance to try it yet, it works REALLY well.
Man thats a really nice paint job!! well intel recently published that they achieved 4.6ghz on there smackdown board under water cooling so in theory you should be able to push even further with that Asus Rampage Extreme II maybe 4.7 / 4.8 http://www.fudzilla.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=11407&Itemid=66 so id say def water cool! perfect case for setup
