I was talking to Brian about painting the top of the CM V8 cpu cooler to look more "ferrari-like" I really like the silver and red intake manifold on the 599
Thats a fab idea!!!!! really looking forward to seeing how this whole project turns out now!!!! especially as was looking at this cooler if i couldnt afford water cooling lol. but the ferrari red does look the part
The air cooler must get painted... that would look amazing in this case. In fact, I'd venture to say that it would look better than watercooling.
No problem.. I understand. I'm awaiting the arrival of the CM V8 cpu cooler from Brian. I wanna see just how big it is in person
I hope it fits inside the case!!! Also, I was thinking on my way to work today, I'll have to install it on the side rather then upright. The two 92mm fans in the rear are meant to pull in cool air, send it through the heat sink / processor area and, up to the top two 120mm fans and out. That being that, If the heat sink is installed upright, the fan on the sink would be blowing against the wind, so to speak. On it's side, it'd be blowing up and out as it should be in this case. Hmm, I hope it can fit that way. Also, this might be a consideration as to how it gets painted on the sink? I don't know... All I know is, as soon as I saw this sink when it first came out, I knew it was the one. It has great performance from what I've read.
Theres a box looking at me, I'm heading over to the shop this afternoon and will crack it open Yea, we can paint a bio-mechanical theme instead for you

Hey Bill Me and my colleague Tom Portsmouth actually had a bit of design input into those coolers last year. I remember an embarrassing moment for CM when they were actually going to call one a V7 but it was pointed out that engines don't actually come in a V7 format Needless to say, they dropped that idea To our relief they turned out to perform well and look good which was the main criteria
Excellent pictures and every bit of information a man or woman could want EXCEPT....... What does it weigh. I'm still betting it weighs more than H20-C7 john
