okay update time! case came back from the powdercoaters!!!! yay! pics: installed the roof radiator with 0mm of clearance remaining between the mobo and rad! cables sleeved (rear view) made me a res holder from a spare bezel. if anyone has a spare TJ07 Bezel PLEEEASE can you send me it! I need another unmodded one! res's go here: pump(s) go here but vertically: false floor & replacement 5.25" holder yet to be made. I had a go at making one but edges were so bad i put it down as practice. think i'm gonna blag a few cuts on the band saw at my school
okay, here are how the pumps are mounted. First, I got two XSPC DDC stands and put the pumps on them. Then, I discovered that they needed modding to mount them vertically (look at the bases) dremel to the rescue! then, I had a bright Idea. I used the USB/Firewire/Headphone bay device as a flat base. Then I drilled a few holes to secure the stands & pumps in place. Voila! One Pump mount. fits really nice too still needs a hole for the tubing though which is why there is some masking tape on there still.
Ok Nick heres my comment. I have to say im really impressed. cant wait to do something like that myself but thing is I need the money and time, unfortunately I have neither of those ( its that sodding car i tell you). Keep it up mate, I might pop round some time next week and check it out myself
thanks aaron. your car is a real money pit. come round any time next week- its half term! oh, and also, go to bed earlier!
rofl.. I only come out at night mate. well throw some old parts my way and i will build my own (cheap) custom pc
Really like the layout and the mounting of the res's. My only thing I think that needs to be fixed is tubing lengths/routes. The original tubing was really nice and clean, but the latest pics you have show it to be way longer than necessary. Fix that up and its an awesome build Just got a TJ-07 for my i7 to live in until I get around to doing my custom build, and love the case! I'll be doing a similar WC layout once I get the money for my WC setup!
time for an update! and its a good one, I promise I FINALLY have my PC back! I filled her up this weekend. still not finished though - its a little rushed becuase its half term (i.e a week off school) and I just had to have my pc for a week with no school or I would go INSANE. so here is why it is a litle rushed in more detail: After a long time figuring out where everything goes & connecting it up, I filled one loop. for 30 seconds. drip, drip drip. turns out I forgot to put the O-ring back when I replaced the pump top (yes, I am an idiot). Anyway, sorted that after 2 hours cleaning and starting again. filled loop 1! (the GPU loop) yay! started filling the second loop with deep purple...ahem...BLACK feser one. filled it full, bled it, thought I'd leak test it for a while, and bam! 3 leaks. all to do with F***ing O-rings. turns out whoever sent me my G3/8" to G1/4" reducers sent me the wrong size fupping o-rings. AND a barb on the res had a bust O-ring. FFS! 4 more hours later, much lost fluid, I finally have a working system with no leaks! I will shut the hell up now so you can see the pics: before filling commenced: okay so i forgot to get a hard drive to 5.25 bay thing so i improvised. 1 piece of packing foam and 4 long ass screws later (innuendo!)...voila! one ghetto hard drive mount! I love the sleeve... new keyboard! full on shots...I havent finished, so dont give me **** about the cable tidying or the unsleeved wires, i'll finish that later. oh and BTW need advice. smoked window acrylic, or no smoked window acrylic? comparison shots: smoked unsmoked thats all for now folks! stay tuned for acrylic goodness in the near future, and much more besides!
almost forgot, to do, in order of urgency: 1. SHUT THE F****ING PUMPS UP! so much vibration! 2.Buy Scythe Himuro 3.Paint DVD drive casing 4.do some funky stuff with acrylic (secret ) 5.sleeve rest of wires 6. get some custom stuff made however, in march, its unlikely much major will get done, since i must buy a netbook = no cash. and in april, well, i'm going to china for 10 days (no, really, I am!)
