Slightly offtopic, but there's the Psile-case from Nexus for miniITX Boards -> http://www.psile.com/index.php

It's alittle bit taller then a Mac Mini, but that results from the non-existant PCI-riser-card.

However, also looking very good imho.

A bukkit load of mini-ITX case at http://www.mini-itx.com/ look in the online store.

I guess I'm more a builder than a buyer.... but I peek at cases to make the brain gears engage.

I'm yet to get started, I have come up with a few ideas, only witing so far though. Uni work load at the moment is epic!

I was tempted to make a cluster as Cheap was on about, and as my main use for computer (other than browing bit-tech) is for CAD, the cluster could be used quite nicely as a render behmoth.

So my ideas are, 1xATX/mATX for main rig with a further 4xMiniITX pc's for the rendering. If I watercool the lot, I'm hoping to fit 5 x Quad Core CPU's. Was going to add either an SSD Raid array or a 2.5" HD array. And as with all my designs, it needs to be as compact as possible. We'll see what I can come up with when I get some time.

Sounds cool. The Cosmos S should be able to fit all that. It would be fun to see your build and a normal one next to eachother :)

I want it smaller than a Cosmos S lol. I'm tempted to make it hot swappable, so entire MiniITX pc's can be unplugged if needed somehwere else and plugged straight back in when rendering. This would make the watercooling very difficult indeed, so I'll have to rethink that one!

    Thanks, Bill.:D
Yeah, If you could put it on a curved drawer, it would be even cooler.:D (But it would look even more like :p)

...So I was waiting for tree trimmers who never showed yesterday...

I'mma gonna toss out de random ideas for the fun. This one centers around a massive-passive cooling heatsink. All the white and gray spots are where I had to redraw surfaces after intersecting.

    :thumb: Much better.
I got another one, working on the idea of 2d frame bits...

I should have enough room for 60 systems in there.
SU isn't corrupting anything at this scale.

How, in the name of fluffy jesus, do you get that much detail into your Sketchup? I've been using SU daily for the last month, and I'm still struggling to produce simple models! And I thought I was doing WELL!

Then I come here and see these.....................works of art, and I feel humbled and shamed by my efforts.

And I can't deside who to vote for either :(

If it will make you feel any better, I've been using some form of 3d graphic software since about '96, and I had some training on Autocad ages ago... I've been interested since I saw Tron back when it first came out.
-But, there's a few free plugins available you should look into. I think they came off 'Smustard'.
The last one uses one called chamfer along path.
Also You can get a lot more control if you blow up the objects like the last one, and under 'model info,' crank the precision down as far as you can get it.

That guy is thinking, "I have to carry this to a LAN?"
@John - A human-sized hamster playground.:D Where the photo finish dash to the toilet has to be done through the Jeffries tubes.:hehe:

o.0 never realised there was free plugins! I really miss chamfer, fillet and inverse select from 3ds so that would be a HUGE help.. off to go trawl google for some of this SU porn

It's a lot of useless stuff, but I did find a DXF exporter.
The one that finds stray points is nice too.
The chamfer one will do fillets too, but you need to play with the #s a bit to get it right. I always forget which one needs to be positive and negative. I found out later when I zoomed out that it was because I made that last model while I was upside down.

    I think I said Smustard.:p
I have no clue on the dxf exporter. I think I googled 'free dxf exporter sketchup'. I ended up on a guitar making forum.
I think I'm done with this one.
I might try to clean it up if I get trapped at home again.

-but don't hold your breath. At 40.5 megs, it's starting to lag a little.:hehe:
