Rant Jade Goody

Seriously, has the world gone mad.
Every news paper, every UK news channel and internet site is full of stories of Jade Goody and her wedding.

WHY ?

I understand she is dieing, but so are thousands of other people.
What has she ever done, other than appear on a reality TV show which she didn't even win.


Maybe I'm getting older, but I just can't understand the fascination with these so called celebrities, who are famous for being famous and nothing else.

Sure its sad, but meh, I couldn't care for her. People go through more tradgic deaths than her, and its only because shes in the limelight that the public are seeming forced to give a c**p..

 

Look on the bright side - at least she isn't taking years about it, less money spent.

 

She'll be dead soon and we will never have to hear of her again.

 

Ive never wished death on anyone as much as i do for her.

Im wishing it would be by the end of next week.

 

You've got to remember that the press is morbid, death means money.

This is as close to death as they'll ever be legally allowed to show.

 

I have to say I'm disappointed in a few of you.

I hated Jade Goody as much as anyone I know, but I would never wish death on someone, especially not dying like that. She doesn't get any special sympathy just because she's famous from me, but she'll get the sympathy that anyone with terminal cancer gets.

It's such a big thing because the press loves an interesting or unusual story, and this certainly checks both of those boxes. And, as Doug says, they love anything bad.

 

I hope she doesn't die, not because I care for her, but because she will become a false idol of bravery or some crap.

I doesn't really bother me, i can't see why everyone is fussing over her being in the papers. I was talking with a chap from work and he was moaning, " there's hundreds of people dying, why should anyone care about her".

I was arguing that even though its abit overboard with all the press we should still be supporting her as the woman is dying for crying out load, we should show some respect even if she was a pain in the arse when she was on TV.

Quite. She's exploiting the fickle media for every penny to try and give her family some financial security.

 

Ive lost people from cancer and i wouldnt want anybody to go through it. However there are thousands of people that die from cancer each year, how many get plastered all over the news yes shes famous and yes its a personal tragedy. Should i care? Is all the money shes getting going to research the disease which killed the people i knew? Would my bail conditions be relaxed if my fiancee contracted terminal cancer?

chavy maybe but racist....i dont think she was as bad as everyone blew her up to be. She was certainly the LOUDIST during the argument with that indian woman (cant spell her name so i wont even try) but she wasnt the most racist of the lot.

As for her. meh, as a "celeberaty" shes a zero but as a human shes dieing which is sad for the children. Im not even sure people are taking into account their feeling in this whole palava.

I was thinking of starting a thread like this, but then thought, what a waste of time.

I hate the fact that she is put of the front page, and then on page 56 or something there is a very small side article about some marine etc... having a leg blown off or worse!
