for misting my poison dart frogs and my terrariums I use the 24 oz. one of these: https://mistymate.com/shop/componen...hop.browse/category_id,12/Itemid,26/vmcchk,1/ These are manual pumpup small units that put out a very fine mist. My frogs come out to enjoy misting time. Most any garden store will have misting equipment - especially for deck and potted plants. john
wow thanks man...!! that was helpful enough... I can get one of this and detach the nozzle to create the shower effect I think...
Will the mister be just a recirculating pump. or will you have an actual evaporative cooler? Please let it be the latter!
I think this may answer some question about the Storm Cage http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOZB6VohMsM
I just made you a 40 second video of my mister in use. Not great quality but towards the end it shows the fog effect. This is the smallest misting nozzle. Others put out more mist or hook a couple in series. I have had no luck embedding so here is the link from my poison dart album. http://s255.photobucket.com/albums/hh137/jhanlon303/Azureus/?action=view¤t=misting.flv john
Glad I could help. I would never have thought about misting and lightning in a mod. This is a cool concept. john
How it Work - The Storm Cage I think this should create the Storm Effect base on my previous test in my lab...
The only problem I can see is how to keep the rain/mist in the acrylic cage. Any vent on the away side of the fans is going to lose moisture. In our vivariums and terrariums they are almost sealed airtight. john
...is not a problem cuz as you can see in this rough design the water will be falling down move by the air in the front and then collect by the reservoir... that's plan... but we'll see when I start building this thing next week what will happen
There's three things I'm concerned about here... 1. you'll have to refill water on a daily basis 2. your water will get very dirty, from the dust the two fans are drawing in 3. your fans will quit service after a bit because of the humidity It's a very nice idea, but I suggest that you find a way to install the fans inside the sealed "stormcage", without them drawing air from outside the whole thing. In addition the fans should be water-proove. Otherwise it's a great idea
thanks for you concern... but I think of that already so I have some solution already but I cannot post everything up right now... let go step by step in a good way... you'll see it soon...!!!
Thank you guys...!!! I'll buy the plexi today... am already up 9:10am here in NYC so I'll update tonight maybe... or tomorrow morning...
