I just hope that my beta copy won't expire and become unusable before the retail version is available! Alternatively, there's always TPB...

If it has fixed the things that make me angry while using vista, yay.

    if not... boo.

now that i'm properly using windows 7 as creative released drivers for my sound card for w7 its really quite nice to use. its fast and responsive but is using around 1.2 gigs of my ram simply by being on, aside from the start menu looking like poop imo it'll be my upgrade from xp.

    peace

Windows 7 beta is 99% stable, at least for me. This fairly clean install actually is a little quicker and lighter on the ram than my XP installation.

It works better than vista did on my 1GB ram system. I don't see how much more they can fix it.

The only thing that I have had problems with is the voice command which has crashed multiple times.

Yay! Cannot await it more eagerly. Finally 8GB of RAM usable, instead of 3.25GB. :)

    Vista 64bit??

will be doing the same when i switched to Vista: boot it on secondary first, test out all software/driver. and then install Win7 when i have time.

If Win7 does go RTM in April like I'm hearing, then I can't see why it would take 5 months before it's available to buy. I think it will be available in the summer providing everything goes to plan. I think MS are trying to dumb down the hype so that when it gets released in a few months everyone is surprised and overjoyed and rush out to buy it.

doesnt it end in August of this year anyways? so it would become useless before it ships anyways, whether its Sept or Jan.
