    For accuracy I often dial in my measurement through the "Value Control Box (VCB)". I find that went my measurements are accurate from the start I would never get (~) measurements when editing a component.

    I am so excited to see all the creative designs coming out of this competition, well done everyone well done.

    @Cheapskate, what can I say...very creative bro.:thumb:

    @Editor22, love the clean detailed lines and color scheme of you case.:rock:

    @stuartwood89, I had the same concept, looks like yours is coming along just fine.:thumb:

    @confusis, very fluid design, I love it!:D

    @Dark~3nergy, :jawdrop: Hold on I think I need to change my shorts now. Need I say more.:thumb:

    @rowin4kicks, Interesting...can't wait for you to unveil this rig.:eeek:

    @Aterius Gmork, simplicity at it's finest...great work my friend.:rock:

    @Xtrafresh and Bill, have you posted this on www.sketchucation.com? Since the design medium is for the most part SketchUp I think they would enjoy following this competitions and who knows they might add something to the prize as a sponsor or something.

    If I missed anyone I just want to say good luck to you all and have some fun dang-it!!!!:clap:

    Thanks for your encouraging comments on the fan design. My prototype design still needs some tweaking and I still might not make the deadline at that. I feel almost ready to post a teaser image but it may be to soon...what you guys think?

    most of the time when im building complex accurate components i use the numberpad to get measurements exact. even when you set the accuracy to '0.0' you can enter *.** etc and it will still create the line to your spec, even though for instance 1.25 will show as ~1.3 when measuring the line.

    :sigh: All of these are truly fantastic

    I think that I'm going to give up on this now and practice my CAD skills for the next competition...

    Hey Bill, great! Please post a link so we can follow the fun. I feel if we got them on board their may be more participant and more creative design for the next contest. Come to think of it maybe we could get sponsorship from the big boys like CoolerMaster, Silverstone and Lian-Li. I'm sure they would benefit from this wealth of open creative computer case design...hell not just cases but for every aspect of the modern computer.

    BTW here are some of my ideas for the next contest.

    - Micro-Tower Cases (anything for a small form factor case design)
    - Air-Cooled Cases (cases with only air cooling used)
    - Water-Cooled Cases (pure H20)
    - Work/Play Station Design (the best "dream" desk, chair, speaker and monitors setup)

    Possible Prizes:

    - a pair of 30" LCD monitors
    - high-end gaming rig
    - a date with Jessica Alba
    - H3 Hummer
    - $1,000,000.00

    .....you know, nothing special.:naughty:

    Just a few suggestions...hope you don't mind.

    OK!, Dark~3nergy, I like where your going on this one. GO SPEED RACER GO!!!

    Not going to say to much about it for now as I still am doing some work on it. It is just my humble design and I hope you like it.

    Looks incredible Scooby!

    Bad idea with the obscene prizes as I'd never be eligible. :D

    Some damn good ideas dude, "- Work/Play Station Design (the best "dream" desk, chair, speaker and monitors setup)" would have to be my personal favourite :)

    @Dark - Oh, Cr*p! It will walk! Are you taking your design cues from WW2 German tanks?
    @Scooby - Awesome!!!! I like the finger dents on the domes. You are hinting at some unique hardware in the back too. You know how to tease!

    -Can we change the date with Jessica Alba to 'mud wrestling'? It won't feel like a date if I don't get my nose broken.:hehe:

    I'd rather change the 'Jessica Alba' to 'Hayden Panettiere'

    Thanks guys, I know the pics don't reveal a lot but I felt that it was to soon and still a lot of work to be done.

    Well still a WIP but I've been able to finish up a lot of work in the past few days. All I can say for now is that the rig has multi stages to it. Now remember I'm still working on it but I'm ready to show a sneak preview.

    STAGE I
    [IMG]
    STAGE II
    [IMG]
    STAGE III
    [IMG]

    The last two images show that I have hidden the panel on top so you may see the interior details. I have also lightened the darker shades so you may see most of the details. Most of the case would be in black anodized brushed aluminum.

    Thanks to:

    Marci for the ThermoChill PA120.2 Series Radiator

    Have to finish up the tubing and a few more things and I should be done. It's just a very simple design but designed with the future in mind. Hope you like it so far.

    More to come......

    How, how, HOW do you guys get so good at this?

    Just the Sketchup part, I mean. The actual execution would be WAY beyond me :$

    I'm gonna be following this very keenly :)
