    Ok

Yesturday i found out my old Philips key006 MP3 player, and it wont charge at all, it has been sat doing nothing for a long time and i suspect the battery has gone dead completely.

So i want to find a replacement, i have spent many hours searching for a replacement. Below i've snapped a picture of the current one.

Dimensional space for it to fit in 36x17x6mm, its a 550mAh battery, but i must say i dont mind it being higher rated if possible.

It might only be a 128mb mp3 player but its a magnesium alloy case and the design is so sleek, love it!

bit-tech is the host of the image.

Infomation printed on the battery fot those who cant see the image..

    NT5M1A6V1Z 1.2v 550mAh I3 ( I think 'I3' is a revision number.)

Googling the serial number dosen't result in much to be honest. And i am not sure of the internal chemistry of the battery, wether it be li-ion, or one of the nickel family.

There's no picture. Is it round or square?

At 1.2V I doubt it's Lithium. If it's a Ni-Cad suffering from memory effect you can sometimes restore chargeability with a short sharp shock. Worked for me with a dud phone battery, a 1-second zap charge from a 12V car battery, then normal charge.

I found out a few days ago it was NiMH, and still searching for something suitable.

I had a look and the album was set to private, so i have gone public in hope it fixes the problem of images.

That's excellent! I totally spaced out cordless batteries. And I used to have my own Radio Shack store:wallbash: Good find.

yeah it was a real B*tch to find, they are know by a few different names CP35, and HC something or other, most annoying.

Anyway i kept finding them in packs of two, so i hunted for 2.4v battery packs, and i won! Cost me £10 from Maplin, F**king rip off tbh. Well at least i have a spare aswell.

Again thanks john, your 'gumstick' search helped bucket loads!
