Awesome job on the stripping and polishing. Instead of wax you might want to consider a couple coats of clear powder coating.

Can you pls tell me why you use WD40 instead of just water for the sanding?

 

Finally got around to uploading pics, but I won't clutter your (awesome) thread with them, so here they are. Basically, there's a few holes drilled for cables and a lot going on that you can't see from the front. When I get some good pics of the back, they'll be in the same folder.

There's my update, how about one from you? Can't wait to see more!

I have been quite busy the last couple of weeks in work so i dont have much time to put my hands on the side pannels as wished

Next week ill go get some spare time to start the second stage on the sanding and start on the polish ( hope so )

 

thank you for the advice but i have seen a lot of ALU Polished and clearcoted and looses all the bling and by the time passes gets all Foggy

further on i will show a Detail ( like in the Cars ) on the case to get that perfect Mirror efect...

Its for not geting an electrical shorcircuit on me and on the sander, also helps to get the surface highly lubed and the sandpapper last longer

nice WC setup you got there , thanks a lot on showing the drills ill be doing allmost the same but whith acrilic parts between but thats is for latter now i must concentrate on polishing its an hard hard work

Just an FYI, I took some quick pics of the back side/cable management after I saw your most recent post, they are now under the link I gave you before. It's (always) a work in progress, but I'm taking a break for now. Soon I will move the 24-pin and the 8-pin EPS cable, and eventually I am WC'ing the GPU.

Enough thread-jacking, can't wait to see more of the outside and I hope those pics will help on the inside as well!

 

Ooh, i like shiny cases. You might try waxing to prevent fingerprints and darkening.

Hi to all again

i have been busy at work, after 3 weeks whith no days off i had this weekend to do some polishing on the side pannels

So lets beggin whith te set up of stuff to do the work

side pannels sanded to 2000 grit





the machines that helpe me do the job



in this pic i have a spay can of cleaner that is good for alu some microfiber Applicator Pad i dont know the name for the buffing stuff in english, sorry and the mothers alu polish compound





funny this one



microfibers towels, lots of them, i used this type of towels because they dont scratch and remove a lot of dirt



first and second pass whith the buff



4th pass --- getting better but not perfect



this one is for you guys to see all the crap that polishing promotes





Getting there , lost my count on how many passes i made



maybe 2 hours later and i dont know how many passes of buffing and cleaning and again , and again............ ITS DONE the first side pannel











this is the MF towels after they passed through the washing machine, all of this was only for 1 side pannel



starting on the other side pannel



1st pass



and is time to get a new spray can of cleaner and continue the job

maybe at the end of this week im finishing of polishing, and start on the washing of the entire case whith a MF Mit, car premium shampoo and WAXING to get more bling and smootheness on the surface of the polished Alu and also for Protecion
